PrizePicks Prop Selections

  • m0NESY (NAVI Jr.) - Over 21.5 Kills

WePlay Academy League has a unique group stage where the ‘away’ team removes three maps to start, then the ‘home’ team chooses from the four remaining maps, and the ‘away’ team then decides which side to start on. This means that we know which four teams on the slate will be picking their map, as well as which four teams will be picking their side. Teams typically pick the more favorable CT side depending on the map, which would guarantee them 15 rounds on that side. As far as I can see, the teams that should be picking their side tomorrow are BIG Academy, Young Ninjas, NAVI Junior, and FURIA Academy, so I would prefer to target overs for players from these teams, while I similarly lean towards unders for players on the opposite teams, as a rule of thumb.

M0NESY is the ninth highest rated player at this event with a 1.22 Rating through two maps despite the fact that NAVI Junior got blown out 6-16 in their first match against BIG Academy. I think that the most likely map here would be Vertigo, but Ancient could be a possibility as well. Vertigo has been T-sided at this event so far with a 53.9% win percentage for the T side across three maps played, so it is not the best map in terms of picking sides, but it has still been an excellent map for m0NESY. He only had 14 kills in a 4-16 loss against Lyngby Vikings last time out, but he had 24, 30, and 32 kills in the three maps prior, and VP.Prodigy should certainly be an easier match-up than Lyngby Vikings. M0NESY also has an impressive 1.30 Rating along with 0.82 kills per round on Vertigo in 2021 across 11 maps played. We have not seen NAVI Jr. play Ancient yet, but they have left it open so they are willing to play it, and it has been very CT-sided at times so I do think it would be a favorable map for the over. NAVI Jr. is the favorite with (-220) moneyline odds and I expect them to win, but VP.Prodigy has played two close maps to start this event and I would not be surprised to see them keep things somewhat close. We just saw regali have a monster day with 38 kills against VP.Prodigy, including 23 AWP kills, so this really looks like a strong spot for m0NESY with the AWP.

  • piriaz1n (FURIA Academy) - Over 19.5 Kills

Fnatic Rising should be the ones picking the map here, and we have only seen them play two maps, both of which were Vertigo, so it does appear that Vertigo is a fair assumption for the map pick here, though it is difficult to be sure with this being a new team. Academy would then get to pick their side, which means this should be a favorable spot for piriaz1n. FURIA Academy played Vertigo on Monday against Astralis Talent and started CT, and piriaz1n got off to a strong start with 12 kills, 7 deaths and a 1.28 Rating at half. FURIA Academy made quick work of their T side against a struggling Astralis Talent squad, and piriaz1n finished the map with only 19 kills, but I see this series as a better spot since it should be much more competitive. Fnatic Rising have looked solid so far, and the odds have FURIA Academy as only a small favorite with (-140) moneyline odds. We have seen piriaz1n with a secondary AWP on the B site of Vertigo, which can be a quiet site at times, but at least Fnatic Rising have not completely ignored it like some teams that treat Vertigo as ‘A Ramp simulator’. Piriaz1n had a 1.27 Rating with 0.73 kills per round on Vertigo against Astralis Talent, and I think we can expect similar numbers in terms of kills per round if we do see that map played, so if this is a close series like it projects to be, then he should have plenty of opportunities to hit the over here. Piriaz1n is coming off of a dominant showing on Tuesday against mouz NXT where he had 27 kills and a 1.41 Rating in a 16-12 win on Inferno, which now puts him as the fifth highest rated at the event with a 1.34 Rating across two maps. I feel confident that piriaz1n gets 20 or more kills in this match-up since he looks to be in great form, and this should be a tight series that could go the distance.
