After the craziness that was Daytona last week, both from a weather and race perspective, we get a 1.5-mile track to grapple with this week. And yes, I said grapple. Kentucky isn’t your standard run of the mill intermediate track by any means and on top of that, it has perhaps the most challenging turn on an oval on the Cup schedule.

Kentucky Speedway has been hosting Cup series races since 2011 and then in 2016 underwent a reconfiguration and a repave that completely changed the track. After the reconfiguring Turns 1 & 2 are banked at 17 degrees and Turns 3 & 4 are tilted at 14 degrees and the first corners were narrowed to make more room on the apron for cars coming off pit road.
