Rising Stock

Cameron Maybin OF, MIA- There hasn't been much to cheer about over in Miami but outfielder Cameron Maybin is finally starting to hit his stride.  During the month of July Maybin is hitting .309 woth three home runs and five stolen bases.  Over the last week Maybin is hitting .364 with one home run.  Maybin will make the most impact in roto leagues as his stolen base upside can really help fantasy owners in the second half of the season.

Rougned Odor 2B, TEX- Odor has made this list before but with his ownership sitting below 50-percent and the fact that he has not slowed down out all I figure he deserves another shoutout. The Rangers second basemen is hitting .356 with five home runs and five stolen bases during the month of July.  Now, fantasy owners should next expect him to hit for such a high average but he can very easily settle into something where he hits around .270 with power and stolen base upside.  Grab him now for the second half of the season and you won't regret it.

Marcus Stroman SP, TOR- Stroman is an interesting case as he was shelled just a few starts ago but on a whole he has been pretty legit for the Blue Jays since coming off the disabld list, going 3-2 with a 3.03 ERA over six starts.  There are now trade rumors surrounding Stroman as the MLB nears it's yearly trade deadline.  A move to a contending team could do wonders for Stroman, as would getting out of the hitter friendly AL East division.  Stroman is 50-percent owned in standard leagues but given how he has pitched recently and his track record I expect that number to rise.

Falling Stock

Dylan Bundy SP, BAL- Things are ugly in Baltimore and that includes starter Dylan Bundy who has allowed five earned runs in each of his last three starts. During that span he has pitched a total of 12.1 innings while alllowing 19 hits.  On the year Bundy has a 4.57 ERA and with the O's trading off pieces as the trade deadline nears you should be looking to dump a player like Bundy to a team looking to take a shot on somebody with upside.  His next start comes on Wednesday against the Red Sox which is never an easy task for any pitcher.

Kyle Tucker OF, HOU- The Astros No.1 prospect was called up with much fanfare but he has struggled so far with his first taste of "the show".  Tucker flashed five-tool upside at the minor league level but so far with the Astros he is hitting just .139 with one RBI and one stolen base.  Tucker is owned in 25-percent of standard leagues which seems a bit high for a player struggling like he is.  Tucker may have all the upside given his talent but for at least right now he is of little use on a fantasy roster.

Jed Lowrie 2B, OAK- The A's are rolling right now but they are doing it without Jed Lowrie for the most part.  Of course Lowrie did homer on Tuesday against Texas but prior to Tuesday's game he was hitting just .107 with an OPS of .431 over his last 28 at bats.  Maybe Tuesday's home run is what he needs to snap out of his current funk but his ownership levels are now sitting at 90-percent and his batting average for the season is down to .276 which is a big fall from how he began the year.
