Pittsburgh Pirates vs Edwin Jackson

Andrew McCutchen, Starling Marte, Josh Bell, Jordy Mercer, Adam Frazier, Gregory Polanco

The Pirates draw Edwin Jackson on Thursday night to kick off their final series of the 2017 season.  Jackson has been torched over his last three starts, allowing 18 earned runs on 21 hits over 10.1 innings.  Over the last seven days the Pirates are among the best hitting clubs in baseball, owning a .283 average and an OPS of .834 which is good for 5th overall in each category.  Given Jackson’s recent struggles and the Pirates recent stretch of play DFS owners should be looking to get a piece of Pittsburgh in their lineups tonight.

New York Yankees vs Jacob Faria

Aaron Judge, Gary Sanchez, Brett Gardner, Didi Gregorius, Starlin Castro

Faria had been pitching out of the bullpen following his return from the disabled list but on Thursday he will take the rubber in Yankee stadium against the one of the league’s hottest hitting teams.   Over the last seven days the Yankees rank third in team batting average at .288 and first in team OPS at .964.  The Yankees as a team also rank fourth in team batting average against right handed pitching this season with an average of .264 and their OPS against right handed pitching is good enough for second best in the league at .795.  Further adding reason to stack the Yankees tonight is they rank third as a team with an OPS of .823 at home, likely due to that short right field wall.  Faria has also faced the Yankees this season previously and things did not go too well as he allowed three runs on three hits while walking five over four innings of work.

Houston Astros vs Eduardo Rodriguez

Jose Altuve, George Springer, Carlos Correa, Evan Gattis, Alex Bregman, Yuli Gurriel, Marwin Gonzalez

Rodriguez has been pretty solid for the Red Sox this season but the Astros offense is an absolute wagon that feasts on left-handed pitching as they rank third in baseball in team batting average and second in team OPS against southpaws this season.  This game is also going to be played in Fenway Park which means those powerful right-handed hitters in the Astros lineup will get to feast on Fenway’s Green Monster in left field.  If you are a betting man I’d suggest taking the over on the Astros run total tonight.
