Death, Taxes, and Boom Fantasy are the only three guarantees in life. Well maybe not the first two, but the last one for sure. Boom has an excellent baseball slate to dive into on Thursday and we’re going to help you navigate through it!

Question one asks us who will have more hits between Daniel Murphy and Corey Dickerson. Murphy is the favorite based on Boom’s point scale, but Dickerson is an extremely appealing option. A lot of people will avoid playing Dickerson based on the fact Justin Verlander is the opposing pitcher, but Verlander isn’t the same pitcher as he was just a year ago. Dickerson has posted a .414 wOBA versus RHP while Murphy’s posted a .392 wOBA vs. RHP and gets a matchup against Robert Gsellman.

Next on the agenda is a four-player question, also having to do with hits. After doing some research prior to this article, tonight’s winning lineups everywhere could be filled with Red Sox and Nationals and we have Bryce Harper, Xander Bogaerts and Dustin Pedroia all involved in this question. The fourth player is Aledmys Diaz, who is the dark horse play in this situation. Bogaerts is the favorite, but Harper definitely provides the most upside. As long as he’s being pitched to and not pitched around he could be in a sneaky spot for a monster night.

Question three has to do with guys driving in runs, and those guys are Jay Bruce, Victor Martinez, Travis Shaw and Ryan Zimmerman. Zimmerman is clearly the favorite as he’s fifth in all of baseball in RBI, which makes him the safest option. Both Bruce and Shaw have been sneaky as run producers as they’re tied for 11th in the NL, while Martinez doesn’t have an RBI in the last 10 games he’s appeared in.

Boom sticks with the RBI idea for question four, but it might be a little easier to navigate with one of the answers being Neil Walker and it’s highly doubtful Neil Walker is going to play a night after injuring himself. The other three choices are Yadier Molina, Evan Longoria and Andrew Benintendi. Benintendi has been on fire in June hitting .349 with four homers and 12 RBI in 11 games, making him the clear cut favorite in Boom’s eyes. Molina and Longoria have 10 RBI between them combined this month, but eight are Longoria’s.

Not including Mookie Betts seems criminal, so let’s dive into how many extra-base hits he’ll have for question five. He’s coming off his biggest night of the season going four-of-five, with three extra-base knocks including two homers. Betts has two four-hit games over his last three contests and has six extra-base knocks in those two games. With how locked in he is right now it seems criminal to think he won’t at the very least get one.

As we touched on earlier when a question involving Corey Dickerson came around, Justin Verlander isn’t the same guy, so when asked about Logan Morrison’s total bases, do your research. 16 of his 19 homeruns have come against right-handed pitching. 12 of his HR have come on the road as Tampa Bay travels to Detroit to begin their series against the Tigers. Don’t be surprised if Morrison’s total bases exceed your wildest dreams on Thursday.

This pitching slate is Chris Sale and than everybody else. Sale’s averaging 10 strikeouts per game on the year and his upside is tremendous. The Phillies -- his opponents – strike out the 12th most per game in baseball and don’t have very good splits against southpaws, so take the under 10 at your own risk.

The last question on tonight’s slate is how many Gio Gonzalez strikeouts will we have in store, which is always a question that nobody can definitively say. Gonzalez is super inconsistent, and could have two strikeouts and may have nine. He’s been better in that department of late, striking out 28 batters over his past 23.2 IP. His wildness and walk problem are ultimately the cause of his inability to pitch deeper into games, which is a major factor to why he doesn’t strike out more batters.
