Group C concludes on Tuesday, with Infinity Esports, Damwon Gaming, Cloud9, and Detonation FocusMe battling it out for the last two spots to escape the group stage. Top lane and jungle are two positions to watch, especially in this slower-than-average group stage.

PrizePicks Prop Selections

Damwon KIA v Infinity Esports

Buggax (INF) - Projected Fantasy Score: 4.5 - UNDER

Here’s a fact: Infinity looks like the worst team in group C, whereas Damwon looks to be the strongest. Combine this with the fact that Khan is one of Damwon’s best players, whereas Buggax is a weak point on INF. Compound this with the fact that top laners, on average, have the lowest KP across the team and you have a recipe for disaster for Buggax: I doubt he will clock 5 KP versus Damwon KIA; in fact, I’d be surprised if Infinity achieve 5 takedowns in general, much less whether Buggax will be involved or not. Under is a safe bet for this top laner.

Cloud9 v Infinity Esports

Blaber (C9) - Projected Fantasy Score: 11.5 - UNDER

Throughout Cloud9’s games at MSI, not a single game did they achieve over 11 kills, and for this prop to work “over”, Blaber would have to assist at least in these 12 hypothetical kills; no dice. Blaber hasn’t shown strong on the international stage, and while I think Cloud9 will defeat INF handedly, 12 kills just doesn’t seem natural for the pace at which these games are being played at. I’d steer towards under for an overrated Blaber, as harsh as it sounds.

Detonation FocusMe v Cloud9

Fudge (C9) - Projected Fantasy Score: 9.5 - UNDER

Funny that we just got finished talking about Blaber, but this particular pick is my most confident on the day. Combine what we learned from Buggax, that top laners are naturally predisposed to lower kill participation, and what we learned with Blaber; that Cloud9 typically play slower paced, lower kill games and you get an insanely easy choice with Fudge; I’d be surprised if he got even 6 KP, muchless 10. I hold nothing against the top laner, but the role just isn’t one that picks up kills in contrast to a role like jungle or ADC. I expect Fudge to not necessarily play poorly, but not pick up wins through sheer PvP such as this projection.
