2025 Player Outlook

A shoulder strain ended Ryan's 2024 campaign early, and across 135 IP, he went 7-7 with a 3.60 ERA and 0.99 WHIP. A 96th percentile walk rate (4.3%) helped keep his WHIP at an impressive spot, and don't overlook his exceptional 2.87 xERA. He added a sinker into the mix last year, but that pitch needs some work, as it was smacked all around the yard, but Ryan's sweeper is very, very good (.207 BAA, 33.7% whiff rate). He's increased his ground ball rate in each of the last three seasons, and he's poised for a big 2025. Health willing, Ryan will get to 160+ IP this season, while providing above average numbers across the board. He's being drafted as an SP3, but he'll perform like a back-end SP2.
