2023 Player Outlook

After arriving in Minnesota via the Nelson Cruz deal with the Rays, Joe Ryan was named as the 2022 Opening Day starter and didn’t disappoint. His season was reminiscent of other Twins pitching rookies of years past such as Francisco Liriano in 2006 who went 12-3 with a 2.16 ERA). Ryan went 13-8 with a 3.55 ERA/1.10 WHIP and struck out 151 batters in 147 innings. Even though his fastball only tops out at 92 mph he is well on his way to becoming a fantasy ace or at least a front-end-of-the-rotation arm.
