2023 Player Outlook
Kirk showed excellent plate discipline last season as evidenced by the fact that he had more walks (63) than strikeouts (58). He got off to a fast start and posted a .311 BA and an .867 OPS through his first 90 games. Kirk seemed to run out of gas toward the end of the season. He lost just over three MPH off of his average EV and batted just .241 with two HRs in his last 49 games. His tendency to hit the ball on the ground (48% career GB rate) will limit his HR production but Kirk’s above-average contact rate should ensure that he’ll hit for a high average.
