2022 Player Outlook
The former first round pick lived up to the hype. Opposing batters hit just .191 against him, but he was especially effective against right-handed batters (.156 BAA). He threw 129.2 innings (including his time in Triple-A) after throwing just 17 during the 2019 seasons but remained effective for the duration of the 2021 season. His 3.22 B/9 is a bit concerning and could eventually be an issue, and it will be interesting to see how his arm reacts to having pitched so many innings during the 2021 season. However, he has a tremendous underlying skill set and while we may see slight regression in his ERA based on 2021 estimators, there is potential for a double digit win season.
