2022 Player Outlook
Baddoo's story was definitely one of the best of the 2021 season as he went from being a Rule-5 pick who never made it past the High-A level in the Minnesota Twins system to becoming a starting outfielder for the Tigers. He went from struggling to make contact to crushing right-handed pitching in the blink of an eye and while opposing pitchers eventually caught on to some of the holes in his approach at the plate, he and his fantasy owners enjoyed some nice moments during the year as he finished the year batting .25with 13 home runs, 55 RBI and 18 stolen bases. His main issue was facing left-handed pitching and eventually, the Tigers simply left him as part of a regular outfield platoon which enabled him to focus on his game and making the proper adjustments. He'll need to cut back on some of the strikeouts and learn to hit same-handed pitching better, but he's still just 23-years old and has plenty of time to make improvements. Even as a platoon partner, Baddoo has the upside of posting a 20-20 season and if he can work out some of his issues, he could reach for even bigger totals.
