2023 Player Outlook

2023 Recap: Arraez made history last year becoming the first player ever in MLB to lead two different leagues in batting in consecutive seasons. What’s more is he did it with an even higher mark in 2023 hitting .354. While the high average was good, as where the 71 runs and 69 RBI from a leadoff spot, the 10 HR and three steals weren’t terribly helpful. The other impressive part of his 2023 campaign was cutting his K-rate in 2022 from 7.1-percent to 5.5-percent in 2023.

2024 Outlook: For Arraez in 2024 we can expect more of the same, for the most part. However, we’re likely to see a drop in his average for a few reasons. Firstly, his xBA was .325 last year and secondly, he put up 203 hits in 574 at-bats. Assuming he gets around the same number of at-bats, it’s unlikely he racks up that many hits two years in a row. The average will still be healthy but outside of runs and perhaps RBI, not much else in the way of fantasy value.
