Murphy's batting average gets a bit of a pass as he handles the rigors of catching, but his .216 average doesn't look as bad when you consider that he hit 17 home runs with 59 RBI last season. Murphy was one of seven catchers in baseball last season to hit at least 17 home runs with 59 or more RBI. He's locked in as the team's primary backstop in 2022 and his 2021 season is easily repeatable. Yes, he's a bit of a drain on your team's batting average, but he's got decent pop for the position and has posted a double-digit barrel rate in each of the last two seasons.
