2023 Player Outlook

Lowe missed significant time last season due to a combination of shoulder, elbow, tricep, and back injuries. In the 65 games he was healthy enough to play, his SLG and hard-hit rate were both well off his career norms. The drop-off could have been caused by the myriad of injuries he suffered throughout the season. Back injuries in particular have been known to drain a slugger of his power (just check out Christian Yelich’s recent power numbers if you don’t believe us). However, Lowe has the potential to be among the leaders in HRs at the second base position when healthy. Follow his progress this spring. With three straight seasons of declining BA culminating with a .221 BA in 2022, if he doesn’t hit home runs, he’s not going to be much help to your fantasy baseball team.
