2022 Player Outlook
Lowe struggled early on and by July 9th he had a 32.4% K rate, .203 batting average and was batting just .115 against lefty pitching. From that point forward he changed his approach, chased fewer pitches outside of the strike zone, and lowered his K rate to 21.4% for the remainder of the season. Lowe finished the second half with a .295/.372/.622 triple-slash, and a .282 batting average against lefty pitching. Lowe has a career 37 home run 162 game average and will be among the league leaders in home runs among fantasy second basemen again this season. However, rostering his power could cause you to sacrifice some of your fantasy team’s batting average. Lowe’s a free swinger and a batting average in the .250 range seems reasonable based on his skillset. Lowe batted leadoff 60 times last season and still managed to drive in 99 runs but if he consistently hits at the top of the Rays lineup as Roster Resource projects, his RBI production could regress this season.
