2022 Player Outlook
Scott's 5.17 ERA last year looks bad, but a .318 BABIP didn't do him any favors. His expected statistics (4.60 xERA, 4.11xFIP) provide some optimism and getting out of Camden Yards should help the southpaw a good bit. Scott is a good source of strikeouts, but Miami will need to harness his command to truly trust him in high-leverage spots. He has a 5.54 BB/9 for his career, and last year's 6.17 BB/9 mark is putrid. One thing to note with Scott is that a rough final 18.1 innings of the 2021 season overshadowed what was a dominant start, as he posted a 2.78 ERA and 32.1 percent strikeout rate through his first 35.2 innings of the season.
