The Oracle Takes On DraftKings

The Oracle, Ray Flowers, takes the leap into playing daily fantasy baseball with

You know me folks. I'm more of a roto, grind it out over 162 games, kinda guy. I like the ability to predict with a bit more certainty how players will perform over the course of the entire season. I'm also not dumb in that I understand the fantasy universe is going in another direction. It's easier to play one day leagues than it is to slosh through 180 days of action and frustration. You set your lineup in the daily game, play & move on. If your big ticket player goes down with an injury so what. You simply choose a different lineup the next day and move on without the injured star. No harm no foul. People also like the thrill of having a winner crowned each day. And let's be honest, pulling in some cashola is never a bad thing either.

Fantasy has partnered with so that's the spot that I’m going to focus on every Friday here at BaseballGuys. So get ready to begin the journey with a DFS rookie.

First, the basics.

At FantasyAlarm we've got you so covered with daily games information that your brain might explode. Here are some of the tools.

I write the DAILY TRENDS Piece that looks at batter versus pitcher data (BVP). If you're signed up with our Assistant GM Product you get this sucker in your email box every morning. If you want to check out the raw BVP data you can find that here.

We have DAILY PROJECTIONS. We have projections, new ones, every day. For all the players going. Who does that?

We have a page that lists all the ACTIVE LINEUPS. You don't have to worry if your guy is in the lineup or not.

We have out DAILY GAMES LOBBY where you can find links to all the contests you could ever want to join.

We've got a page that breaks down the rosters used in the various sire called MLB SITE SCORING SYSTEMS. Gotta know what league you're in and what the rules are.

What's the WEATHER like?

We have a DFS STRATEGY page where Todd Zola breaks down daily game strategies.

Finally there is the DFS PLAYBOOK in which we break down the matchups for that day in fantastic detail.

As I noted at the start, we're playing on DraftKings. We've got a way for you to earn up top $600 in bonuses with DK, so make sure you keep reading. Before we get to that, what are the rules for DK?

Unlike some of the other daily sites, DK is pretty straight forward. Here's the starting lineup.

C, 1B/DH, 2B, 3B, SS, OF, OF, OF
2 Pitchers

You have $50,000 to set up your 10 person team.

Pretty simple stuff.

Hi Ray, I have a question about the Football Draft Guide and Assistant. I am already signed up with Draft Kings. I need to deposit more for the football season. Can I deposit money at Draft Kings and still get the free offer of the the Draft Guide and the Assistant? Or, is it only for new depositors. Thanks Ray
