Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Pick Ups
Hey Fantasy Hoopers it is Week 10 of the Fantasy Basketball season, and unfortunately we have to replace a few star players who have went down with injuries that will keep them out for an extended period of time, if not the whole season in Al Horford's case. Well as the saying goes, "As one door closes, another one opens." So let's hope one or more of these following players can be the surprise of the New Year.
As always, if you have any questions feel free to post them in the comments section below, and it may behove you to take a look at last week's Wavier Article as some players on last week's list may still be available in your league. And for you Daily League players, be sure to check out our Daily League Picks of the Night including Sleepers and Value Plays, which posts around 5:30pm every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in our NBA Articles section.
(Note: percentage numbers indicate percentage owned and Click on the players in blue to see their profile page and if they appeared in last week’s article it will take there so you can get more insight on why you should consider picking them up).
Jodie Meeks LAL (34%) is one of the few Lakers guards who is healthy and producing. Meeks has played over 33 minutes in seven consecutive games, scoring in double-digits in each of those games with a total of 15 steals while adding a few assists and rebounds to boot.
Lou Williams ATL (24%) has moved past the transition phase of easing his way back into the lineup and has now eclipsed 30 minutes played in three of his last four games. Williams is averaging 15.5 points, 2.3 made 3-pointers, 2.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and almost a steal per game over his last four games, similar if not better numbers then he averaged in his two previous career seasons.
Jordan Farmar LAL (21%) seemed to still be bothered some by his sore hamstring in his first few games back, but if his last two games are any indication then he should be past that and should be owned in all formats as there is no one to challenge him for minutes, at least in the near future.
Giannis Antetokounmpo MIL (13%) appeared in a previous Wavier Wire write up and his stock continues to rise as he has moved into the starting lineup over the last six games and played 30-plus minutes in each of his last four games. The Alphabet, or Greek Freak, as he is affectionately referred to by many is averaging 10.3 points, 47.5 FG%, 5.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and more than a block per game in his six career starts. An added bonus, The Alphabet is eligible at SG or SF for those of you who play in position specific leagues.
Jeremy Lamb OKC (3%) has moved into the sixth man role for the Thunder now that Reggie Jackson has moved into the starting lineup to replace the injured Russell Westbrook. Lamb is a better fit for leagues that do not count field goal percentage.
Mo Williams POR (6%) is a great add if you need help in assists as he is leading all NBA bench players in assists per game at 4.8 and his minutes should be closer to 25-plus per game now that he is healthy. (Note: there are some concerns that Williams may lose a few minutes when C.J. McCollum gets healthy, but at this point I would not worry too much about that).
Aaron Brooks HOU (1%) play has been very erratic, but if you are need of three pointers and points Brooks should be able to help while Patrick Beverley is out for another handful of weeks with a fractured hand.
