Were you one of those people who liked report card day back in school? I wasn’t but not for reasons that you might think. Being the youngest of five my parents really didn’t care what kind of grades I got because at that point they had seen it all. Even at a young age I had a thirst to learn and to know. I would pay attention to the things that I wanted to learn about and drift off when the class was talking something I didn’t care about. This happens in fantasy sports all of the time except now I am the teacher, which sucks a lot more than I thought it did by the way.

So each week I will be going over all of my rankings, projections, lineup advice and strong opinions and letting the record speak for itself. Obviously this is a risky proposition considering if I am wrong too much it could be a severe hit to my career. But I have confidence because fantasy football is something that I love and have a desire to learn about every single day. So despite the risk, I accept this challenge.

Here is the second edition of Right, Wrong or Indifferent taking a look back at NFL Week 13:

RIGHT

Cleveland Browns

Last week I said emphatically that the Browns were going to try and outsmart themselves by becoming a passing team instead of sticking with the run first based offense that lead them to the top of the AFC North. They fell into the trap and are now on pace to lose the rest of their games and finish last in the division.

Matthew Stafford, QB, Lions

There were many questioning Stafford going into last week. But with multiple games against the Bears and contests against the Buccaneers and Vikings, Stafford was due for a big upswing in his fantasy performance. He is going to lead a lot of teams to the championship this season.

Jay Cutler, QB, Bears

I hit the Bears/Lions game completely on the head this week. People freaked out about the Bears matchup on Thanksgiving Day but I knew that he’d be fine against the divisional rival Lions.

Andy Dalton, QB, Bengals

How did I know that Dalton was going to disappoint against the Bucs this week? Simple. He is playing like crap lately and I am just not comfortable using ice cold QB’s at this point in the season.

Rashad Jennings, RB, Jaguars

I was the only analyst who had Jennings in their top seven last week and he paid off greatly for me and those who trusted this assessment. Jennings is a workhorse RB who catches a boatload of passes in every game. He’s a to 10 RB when healthy.

Matt Asiata, RB, Vikings

All that I want to say here is that while others were leading you to dropping quality players and picking up and starting Joe Freaking Banyard. I simply couldn’t believe what I was hearing last week with Banyard. He had a whopping five snaps in week 13.

DeAndre Hopkins, WR, Texans

Hopkins production this week should come as no big surprise. As I mentioned all week, Ryan Fitzpatrick prefers Hopkins over Andre Johnson. With Ryan Mallett out for the season Hopkins should continue to produce at a high level with the beardless Ryan Fitzpatrick throwing him the ball.

Calvin Johnson, WR, Lions

It’s not that anybody wasn’t into Calvin Johnson this week but I advocated him as the #1 WR in DFS this week. Megatron produced at a crazy high level and finished as the second best fantasy WR this week.

Keenan Allen, WR, Chargers

I’ve been in Allen’s corner all season and will continue to stomp for him week in and week out. When all is said and done, Allen will be a top 20 fantasy WR in 2014.

Martavis Bryant, WR, Steelers

I’ve been saying it for weeks, Bryant isn’t playing well and his playing time continues to decrease. He is only useful in Non-PPR league formats at this point.

Jordan Reed, TE, Redskins

Colt McCoy loves throwing to his TE’s. Reed is finally healthy and as long as he is, he will continue to produce at a strong level.

Kyle Rudolph, TE, Vikings

I am so happy that I recommended Rudolph to so many folks last week. Rudolph was pretty much my de facto go to for a TE pickup in week 13.

WRONG

Philip Rivers, QB, Chargers

I have to say that I was red hot on QB’s last week. Rivers was the only QB that I didn’t have an accurate read on in week 13 as he far outproduced the 14 points I had projected him for.

Giovani Bernard, RB, Bengals

If the Bengals want to continue to destroy their run game that is fine. I can at least chose to avoid all of the Bengals RB’s.

Reggie Bush, RB, Lions

I was positive that Bush was going to play on Thanksgiving Day against the Bears. I had Bush ranked real high in my rankings last week and his sitting out was a punch to the gut.

Latarius Murray, RB, Raiders

Just like Reggie Bush, I was certain that Latavius Murray was going to be cleared in time to play against the Rams this weekend. Just like Bush, Murray was instead in street clothes on the sidelines for the entire afternoon.

Denard Robinson, RB, Jaguars

This is what I get for recommending a player that I hate. I should have stuck to my guns and continued to avoid Denard Robinson.

Brandon Marshall, WR, Bears

Marshall will be one of my biggest misses of the 2014 season. His overall numbers are solid but he has disappointed me in far too many instances this season. It seems as though Alshon Jeffery has greatly eaten into Marshall’s production of late.

Brandon LaFell, WR, Patriots

I wasn’t on LaFell this past week and he made me look stupid in the process. His 5-38 wasn’t impressive but the 2 TD’s made him a top 12 fantasy WR this week.

Allen Hurns, WR, Jaguars

One of these weeks I am going to be correct on Allen Hurns but it wasn’t this past week.

Travis Kelce, TE, Chiefs

Alright, I really can’t stand this Travis Kelce stuff anymore. His talent is there but the opportunities just aren’t enough to make him fantasy worthy.

Vernon Davis, TE, 49ers

Davis is playing for a contract but obviously that is not enough as his production is in the toilet right now.

INDIFFERENT

Colt McCoy, QB, Redskins

I said all week that McCoy would bring some stability to the Redskins offense and that is what happened. His numbers were very mediocre however.

Tre Mason, RB, Rams

I have been against Mason all season but gave him a reprieve this week against the Raiders. Mason was a top 20 RB for me this week and made it into the DFS Playbook as well. I had no idea he would be the second best fantasy RB but am happy that he won some Fantasy Alarm readers money.

Alfred Morris, RB, Redskins

The way to attack the Colts defense is by running the football. The Redskins did that pretty well on Sunday and Morris got into the endzone as well. But that TD was called back for a holding penalty which hurt his numbers overall.

Davante Adams, WR, Packers

All week I said that the Packers were going to have to get their other WR’s involved in order to beat the Patriots. They did just that as Adams was a big part of their early game strategy. He probably belongs in my “right” column but I have to admit I wasn’t over the moon about him and thus he gets an indifferent tag instead.

Josh Gordon, WR, Browns

As I said before, the Browns have become a passing team and are thus rinsing their season down the drain. But hey, Gordon finished in the top 30 of fantasy WR’s in PPR formats this week.

Kelvin Benjamin, WR, Panthers

I always recommend Benjamin and for the most part he comes through for me. This week though the Panthers were anemic and didn’t get into the endzone much. Benjamin however did have 12 targets on the day and over 10 points in a PPR format.

Julius Thomas/Jacob Tamme, TE, Broncos

I was correct in that Thomas didn’t play in week 13. However, I thought that Tamme would be more useful and indeed he did have an endzone target in which he dropped the pass.
