Hopefully by now you are planning your week five lineups with help from our Assistant G.M. tools and my week four fantasy football rankings. But as good of a job as we do with our rankings there are always questions as to why so and so is so high and others so low down. That is why I will try my best to answer your questions even before they are asked, here in the Weekly Rankings Review.

Here is the Week 6 Rankings Review:

Welcome Back

, QB, Giants (#9 QB)

Eli Manning hasn’t been a QB1 in fantasy football since Barack Obama’s first term. But a brand new Giants offense and four consecutive 2+ TD games has Eli back in the spotlight. Every time the NFC East gets together I am going to be pushing every chip I have to the center of the table. I am starting Manning over Cam Newton, Colin Kaepernick and Tom Brady this week.

Carson Palmer, QB, Cardinals (#13 QB)

Palmer has been throwing for a week now and will start for the Cardinals against the Redskins providing he makes it through one full practice by weeks end. Ideally we wouldn’t have to start Palmer in his first game back but I have all of the confidence in the world in Bruce Arians and the receiving corps of the Cardinals to make Palmer’s return successful.

Still A #1

, RB, Eagles (#5 in PPR; #9 in Non-PPR)

Let’s cut all of the bulls&it about benching or even cutting Lesean McCoy. Anybody who thinks this is a good idea please email or tweet me your list of 24 better RB’s to start this week. So, the fact that 99% of us do not have two or three better RB’s on our roster means McCoy is going to be in our lineups. His skills and the Eagles offense have not changed or diminished enough to justify starting Ronnie Hillman over him.

Hard To Believe

Ben Tate, RB, Browns (#7 in PPR; #5 in Non-PPR)

It is really, really odd putting Ben Tate’s name along with some of the other RB’s in the top 12 this week. But between injuries and poor performance the RB situation is really dire. What make Tate one of the surest bets this week is that the Browns are committed to the run and will use Tate on all three downs. Pretty much any RB that gets passing down and goal line work has substantial value in today’s fantasy landscape.

Ahmad Bradshaw, RB, Colts (#10 in PPR; #11 in Non-PPR)

Believe it or not, but Bradshaw currently ranks sixth in RB fantasy scoring. He has been tremendous so far this season and that should continue this week against the divisional rival Texans. Andrew Luck is locked in right now and thus defenses have to do all that they can to max protect the Colts passing game. This leaves plenty of room to roam for Bradshaw and Trent Richardson. Bradshaw’s ability to catch the ball out of the backfield though gives him the top ten potential that we all seek.

Justin Forsett, RB, Ravens (#14 in PPR; #19 in Non-PPR)

If you had told me at the beginning of the season I would be ranking Justin Forsett as a top 15 RB, I would have asked you what type of brain injury I would be suffering from. Alas, here we are and Forsett is making those who plucked him off of waivers a few weeks ago very happy. The Ravens should have no problems scoring points against the Buccaneers and Forsett could wind up seeing the endzone once again this week.

It’s A New Week People

, WR, Redskins (#9 in PPR; #17 in Non-PPR)

Last week Garcon and the Redskins ran up against the notoriously tough Seahawks defensive backfield. This week they draw the Cardinals that have been killed by the pass the past few weeks. Garcon has laid some stinkers this season but after getting called out by Richard Sherman this week you can bet your behind that Garcon will be motivated to put up a big game in week six.

Keenan Allen, WR, Chargers (#22 in PPR; #19 in Non-PPR)

You can keep on hating on Keenan Allen if you’d like, but I am not going to ignore a player of his talent with a red hot QB going against the Raiders secondary. Let’s face it. You are going to bench him this week and he is going to score two TD’s. I am not however because I have been down that road before and my 25 years of experience tells me to stick with the young WR.

I Ain’t Buying

Austin Davis, QB, Rams (#19 QB)

Austin Davis has thrown for 702 yards and six TD’s in the past two weeks. I am getting questions on whether to start him over Nick Foles this week and my answer is a repeated “NO!” Look, the kid is developing rapidly before our very eyes but the Rams offense is not one that can sustain high fantasy numbers from a QB. This week against the 49ers the downside is just too great for Davis and thus he should remain on your bench.

, RB, Bills (#27 in PPR & Non-PPR)

I am just sick of Spiller in this Buffalo offense. Doug Marrone has no idea what he wants to do on a week in and week out basis and it is crushing the value of some very talented players. Between his timeshare with Fred Jackson and the inefficiency of the Bills offense as a whole, I am staying as far away from Spiller as I can.

Toby Gerhart, RB, Jaguars (#41 in PPR; #35 in Non-PPR)

Nobody should be even considering starting Toby Gerhart but as we look over the other choices at RB this week I guess everybody is in play at some point. But this is a nowhere road filled with disappointment and pain.

Falling Fast

, WR, Texans (#26 in PPR; #27 in Non-PPR)

It’s not that Andre Johnson isn’t useful especially in PPR formats but it is clear that DeAndre Hopkins is Ryan Fitzpatrick’s preferred target. Unfortunately, when Ryan Fitzpatrick is your QB there just isn’t a ton of scoring opportunities to begin with. It is time to start fading Johnson before he ruins all of our fantasy teams.

Cordarrelle Patterson, WR, Vikings (#38 in PPR; #37 in Non-PPR)

Patterson has gone from being an early round draft pick to just the 42nd best WR so far this season. He is a very limited player because he cannot catch the ball well away from his body. This limits his red zone opportunities and thus touchdowns.
