Ryan Zimmerman (R) Headshot

Zimmerman is feeling soreness and will not play this weekend, Jamal Collier of MLB.com reports.

It's not clear exactly what is ailing Zimmerman, but the Nationals can afford to give him as much rest as needed, so manager Dusty Baker is planning to hold him out both Saturday and Sunday. Adam Lind is starting in Zimmerman's place Saturday and figures to do the same Sunday.
5:30 pm (EST)
Sean Manaea (L) Headshot

Manaea was scratched from his scheduled start Saturday against the Rangers with a minor back issue, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

The good news is the ailment doesn't appear to be anything overly serious, and Manaea is hoping to make his final start of the season next week. Raul Alcantara will step in to start Saturday in his place.
5:29 pm (EST)
Bryce Harper (L) Headshot

Harper (knee) played in another simulated game Saturday and is ready to advance to the next step in his recovery, Chelsea Janes of The Washington Post reports.

The Nationals are waiting to determine exactly what the next step for Harper will be, but he made it through simulated games the last two days without issue, so he is at least ready to face live pitching again, and could be ready to rejoin the big-league club. The team figures to provide more details on Harper's status over the next day or two.
5:27 pm (EST)
Arthur Maulet Headshot

Maulet was promoted to the active roster Saturday, Nick Underhill of The Advocate reports.

With the Saints thin in the secondary, Maulet has a chance to contribute Sunday. Regardless of whether he is asked to play with the defensive unit or special teams, Maulet holds minimal fantasy value entering Sunday's game.
5:25 pm (EST)
Trey Burke Headshot

Burke is finalizing a non-guaranteed deal with the Thunder, Shams Charania of the Vertical reports.

Burke will be brought on as a depth consideration, and will likely compete with Semaj Christon for the third point guard position. He likely won't gain fantasy value with this move. In 2016-17, he averaged 5.0 points and 1.8 assists per game.
5:20 pm (EST)
Kendall Langford Headshot

Langford was released by the Saints on Saturday, Nick Underhill of The Advocate reports.

Langford's release reflects the Saints pursuit of added secondary depth for Sunday's contest. There's a chance he'll be re-signed after Sunday, but until then he's free to sign anywhere.
5:19 pm (EST)
Shin-Soo Choo (L) Headshot

Choo is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the A's.

Choo tallied five hits, including two home runs, over his last two games, but he will still get a day off Saturday. Nomar Mazara will take Choo's place in right field, and Delino DeShields will replace Mazara in left field.
5:18 pm (EST)
Sam Gaviglio (R) Headshot

Gaviglio will no longer start Sunday against the White Sox, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.

Ian Kennedy has been away from the team attending the birth of his child, but he's expected to rejoin the Royals in time to start Sunday's game, so Gaviglio will have his next start pushed back once again. It's still unclear when his next start will come at this point, but the the 27-year-old will no longer get two starts before the end of the season due to the rotation shuffle. He allowed just three runs in 10 innings through his first two starts for the Royals.
5:15 pm (EST)
Darryl Tapp Headshot

Tapp was released by the Saints on Saturday, Nick Underhill of The Advocate reports.

Tapp signed with New Orleans just three days ago so the dismissal is a bit perplexing. The initial thought here is that Tapp might find his way back onto the roster following Sunday's contest. Tapp was released to help reinforce a thin secondary.
5:12 pm (EST)
D.J. Humphries Headshot

Humphries (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game, Kent Somers of The Arizona Republic reports.

His projected absence will mark the second consecutive game he has missed. The injury was said to keep Humphries out for a maximum of two weeks, so it's likely he'll make a return in Week 4.
