Wood was optioned to Double-A Montgomery after Tuesday's game.
He was recalled from Double-A to provide some bullpen depth and came in and recorded one out without allowing a baserunner against the Rangers. Given his standing on the 40-man roster, he could be back up again this season if the Rays are in a pinch. However, considering he is still being developed as a starter and has not yet pitched at Triple-A, Wood will likely spend the majority of the season pitching in the upper levels of the minors. He has a 4.47 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 52:19 K:BB in 52.1 innings this season with Montgomery. May 31 12:30 am (EST)
