The Thursday night game for Week 11 between Carolina and New Orleans was hard-hitting and we saw several players suffer injuries of varying degrees.  That is just representative of what fantasy GMs deal with every week.  We are in the stretch run now so any games missed by impact players could have a devastating effect on GMs playoff chances.  So without further ado, here is the next edition of the fantasy football walking wounded.

Rob Gronkowski (TE-NE)

It’s no surprise that Gronk is officially ruled out for Sunday’s game against San Francisco after suffering internal injuries last week.  He is only expected to miss one game so he should be back for next week which is good news for fantasy GMs.  Look for Martellus Bennett to have a big game in Gronk’s absence as he is a TE1 option for Week 11.

Dez Bryant (WR-DAL)

Bryant is dealing with a back issue which limited him in practice on Friday.  The injury does not appear to be serious enough to put his status for Week 11 in jeopardy so you can start him as a WR 1 without hesitation.  The Cowboys offense has been clicking on all cylinders and Bryant has been providing value commensurate with his draft position over the past several weeks.  He should have a very favorable matchup this week against a suspect Baltimore secondary.

Amari Cooper (WR-OAK)

Cooper was limited in practice on Friday as he deals with a back issue he sustained a couple weeks ago.  He will be fine to play on Monday night against Houston as the Raiders are just likely being cautious with their young star receiver.  Oakland has emerged as one of the best teams in the league and Cooper is a huge part of that with his 58 receptions for 843 yards.  The only gripe from a fantasy perspective is that he has caught only two touchdown passes, but that should take care of itself in time as both he and Derek Carr continue surging as one of the league’s most dynamic QB-WR duos.

Lamar Miller (RB-HOU)

Miller suffered an ankle injury last week and was limited in practice this week as a result.  However, he is fully expected to play on Monday night against Oakland and is a must-start RB1.

Todd Gurley (RB-LA)

Gurley was limited at practice on Friday with a thigh injury and is listed as questionable for Week 11 against Miami.  He dealt with a similar injury last week but played through it against the Jets.  Gurley has been a big fantasy bust thus far amassing just 515 rushing yards and only three touchdowns.  He should be fine to play on Sunday but you should check back in for further last minute updates before kickoff.

Mark Ingram (RB-NO)

Ingram took a nasty hit to the head in Thursday night’s loss to the Panthers and is now in the league’s concussion protocol.  The good news is that he will have extra time to recover for Week 12 so check back later next week for further updates on whether he will get cleared.  However, he has seen his playing time and snaps cut into by Tim Hightower over the past couple weeks so Ingram is a RB2 at best going forward.

Jeremy Maclin (WR-KC)

Maclin has been ruled out for Week 11 which will be the second straight game he is missing due to a groin injury.  In his absence, look for Tyreek Hill to see a heavy workload again which makes him a good fantasy option as a WR3 against Tampa Bay this week.

Chris Hogan (WR-NE)

Hogan has been ruled out for this week’s game against the 49ers with a back injury.  He did practice in a limited capacity but the Patriots decided not to send him on the trip out west.  With Hogan and Gronk both out, look for Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola to see an increased number of targets against a shoddy San Francisco defense.

Alshon Jeffery (WR-CHI)

Technically Jeffery is not injured, but he will miss the next four games after being suspended for violating the league’s PED rules.  It’s been a disappointing season for Jeffery anyway as he only as 40 catches for 630 yards and just one touchdown, so this is the icing on the sardine-flavored cake.  He won’t be eligible to return until Week 15 so he can be dropped in redraft leagues since the fantasy regular season will be over by then.
