Hopefully the Cubs won't screw up tonight's game like they did last night as a tarp failure turned a 30 minute delay into 4 hours which led to a shortened game. I had some exposure to that game which was disappointing to see yet another stadium failure. There are a ton of bats to like in Chicago again tonight as we get two horrific pitchers in Edwin Jackson and Jake Peavy. I love me some Anthony Rizzo, Chris Coghlan, Luis Valbuena (don't go to crazy with this one), Pablo Sandoval and Angel Pagan at Wrigley Field. All of these guys should be in line for a decent night and my top plays of the night are going to be the red hot Starling Marte and Yasiel Puig who both should crush some crappy left-handed pitching. Justin Upton was a monster last night and to make things even better he was low owned. Upton is again in the playbook since he has been hot but has a tough match-up so keep him to tournament line-ups.
There are some quality starting options tonight with Johnny Cueto, Tanner Roark, Garrett Richards and Lance Lynn. The only negative is that Cueto and Lynn face off with each other which will make the win tough. Based on value, Tanner Roark is actually my favorite pitcher tonight as he should get an easy win even though he does not have the K rate of the others. Jake Odorizzi missed the cut as the Tigers can light up the scoreboard in a hurry which is something that I cautioned everyone against on Francisco Liriano last night.
Good Luck tonight and always hit us up on twitter @tedschuster and @jeff_mans with questions or suggestions to make this thing better.
