Of the eighteen pitchers going Monday, only seven have ERAs under 4.00, and two of those are Wade Miley and Mike Pelfrey. I’m probably not stacking Angels against Mashiro Tanaka, or Cubs against Jacob deGrom, but that still leaves 11 teams you could reasonably stack. When there are so many strong hitting matchups to choose from, my preference is normally to pick and choose the players and values I like the best. That being said, I was able to identify two stacks I especially like, along with a couple more to consider if you don’t want to pay for the Yankees or want a bit more upside than the Padres can provide.

My Stacks for Monday, June 12, listed in order of preference:

San Diego Padres vs. Bronson Arroyo (R)

Jose Pirela, Franchy Cordero, Wil Myers, Yangervis Solarte, Hunter Renfroe, Austin Hedges

You have to love the value at the top of the Padres order, especially on DraftKings. Pirela is 11-for-18 with two home runs, five runs and five RBI during his five-game hitting streak. Franchy Cordero has a .931 OPS against righties this season in addition to one of the best names in MLB. Bronson Arroyo has allowed 2.84 HR/9 this season, and the Padres have enough pop in the middle of the lineup to make him pay.

New York Yankees vs. Alex Meyer (R)

Brett Gardner, Aaron Hicks, Aaron Judge, Matt Holliday, Starlin Castro, Gary Sanchez

The Yankees have scored at least eight runs in five consecutive games, including 30 runs combined over their last two. There is a pretty decent chance they keep the streak going Monday. Of the Yankees listed above, Brett Gardner has the lowest OPS against righties at .897. If I was Alex Meyer I think I might call in sick to work.

Boston Red Sox vs. Jerad Eickhoff (R)

Mitch Moreland, Dustin Pedroia, Mookie Betts, Xander Bogaerts, Andrew Benintendi, Hanley Ramirez

This is significantly cheaper than the Yankees stack, and coming into the season nobody would have said the Yankees have a better lineup than the Red Sox. Boston is certainly capable of scoring early and and often against Jerad Eickhoff, he of the 5.15 ERA and 1.53 WHIP. Even so, it isn’t a great sign when Mitch Moreland has the best OPS against right-handed pitchers on your team.

Seattle Mariners vs. Adalberto Mejia (L)

Guillermo Heredia, Mitch Haniger, Nelson Cruz, Danny Valencia, Robinson Cano, Kyle Seager, Mike Zunino

It is nice when you can get a couple of cheaper guys at the top of the order and pair them with studs like Nelson Cruz and Danny Valencia who have crushed lefties in their careers. Mejia hasn’t allowed more than three earned runs in any outing this season, including a start Wednesday in Seattle. That being said, right-handed batters have a .372 wOBA against Mejia this season, and nobody would be surprised to see Haniger, Cruz or Valencia go deep.
