Yesterday we lost a great one in Tony Gwynn. While it is sad and unfortunate that the greatest hitter of my childhood years has passed, it is pleasing to see a professional player talked about in such a positive light as Mr. San Diego has been these last two days. Recollecting on the many memories and successes Gwynn had created and accomplished over his 20-year career there are many things that jump out to me including that his rookie card came out the same year I first started seriously getting into card collecting, which lead to a long-time affection for the hit machine that was Gwynn. Dreaming of what it would have been like had DFS play been around when Gwynn played is intriguing. I am also intrigued to hear what stands out most to you from the great Tony Gwynn’s career? Look forward to reading your responses in the comments section below and while you ponder some Captain Video memories lets get to today’s hitters that will hopefully hit like Gwynn, at least for today, along with some top pitching recommendations in today’s DFS Playbook.

Starting Pitcher Picks of the Night
Pitcher | Pos. | DraftKings | DraftStreet | FanDuel | Reasons |
Johnny Cueto | P | $10,900 | $22,320 | $10,300
Zack Greinke | P | $11,600 | $18,911 | $9,600
Tanner Roark | P | $8,200 | $17,222 | $2,356 | Nats have 8th best team OPS vs LHP while Astros have 8th worst OPS vs RHP and game is at home where Roark owns a 1.55 ERA over 40.2 IP. Kuechel will likely be a popular choice tonight in DFS so combine the above with info with Roark likely having low ownership, and Vegas is favoring the Nats tonight it looks like a recipe to go Roaring with Roark in a GPP Tuesday. |
