Point Guard

Jeff Teague has been a bit inconsistent this season but he has some serious upside at $7,000. Give him a look against John Wall and the Wizards but he’s more of a GPP play.

On the other side of things, John Wall is always a favorite play of mine. He’s nearing $9,700 and that’s a bit too much for my likings. I’m still going to roll him out in a few lineups because he’s been tremendous over the last couple of weeks.

Dennis Schroder is an interesting GPP play against Russell Westbrook and the Thunder. The Thunder are average against PGs and Schroder has been playing well as of late. He’s in tournament consideration because of his price of $6,900.

Ricky Rubio has finally started to get things going. It took him a few weeks, but he’s now scored 32 and 34 fantasy points in his last two games. He’s still a very volatile option and he’s far from the safest PG on the slate, but his price is too cheap to ignore.

Shooting Guard

If Wall is too expensive for you, feel free to target his backcourt mate, Bradley Beal. Beal is nearly $3,000 cheaper and he has scored 54, 34, 40, 29 fantasy points over his last four games. He’s safe and as you can see, he has some upside as well. The Pacers are depleted at the two-spot so Beal should feast.

Dwyane Wade is probably the safest option at SG today behind Wall. He’s a near lock for 30-35 fantasy points. Detroit has killed SGs this season, but I’m not overly concerned with D-Wade. He’s a solid play, but he doesn’t have the GPP upside I typically look for.

Wesley Matthews has slowed down over the last three games and I’m expecting his ownership to take a hit. Due to his skill set, his ceiling is relatively low, but his price already reflect that. Give him a look against Denver.

If D-Wade’s matchup scares you off, or Wesley Matthews recent play worries you, go Zach LAvine and don’t think twice about it. He’s nearly $7,000 and that’s quite a bit for a guy who basically only scores. He’s leading the NBA in minutes and the Wolves should be forced to up the tempo against the Suns, which benefits Lavine.

Small Forward

Small Forward is ugly today. Paul George is enticing at $8,100, but with Teague and Turner rolling, George is taking a hit. He’s a decent play, although I don’t love him in this spot.

I always target the Suns, so Andrew Wiggins popping up on this list should surprise nobody. Wiggins is probably my least favorite Timberwolves player of the day, but I’ll still have exposure to him.

If you’re looking for a high-floor low-ceiling type of guy, Harrison Barnes may be your guy. He’s  a good bet to score 25 fantasy points every single night and if he has a decent game, he’ll likely get you 30-35. Like I said, there’s not much upside here, but he’s fairly safe against the Nuggets.

C.J. Miles is my value tournament SF play of the day. He’s getting the minutes necessary to produce, but he’s just playing poorly. He’s only $4,200 and he can get hot in a hurry. He carries some risk, obviously.

Power Forward

Karl-Anthony Towns may be guarded by Marquese Chriss and if that’s the case, it could get ugly. The foul prone rookie would get obliterated and even if Tyson Chandler tries to stop KAT, the old man does not have enough versatility to slow down the youngster.

If Jon Leuer plays, he may be my top value play of the night. I’m a bit concerned with the back injury because he’s dealt with a few back injuries earlier in his career. He was red-hot before injuring his back, so keep a close eye on this situation.

Paul Millsap is back to his stat-stuffing ways and he deserves consideration in tournaments today. He’s facing the Thunder and he’s just $7,500. Millsap is a very intriguing play and I’ll likely have some heavy exposure to Millsap.

Wilson Chandler will likely start once again. The upgrade to the starting lineup isn’t a massive upgrade because his usage rate takes a hit, but his minutes are safe. Chandler is not a very attractive play today, but he’s an alternative option to Harrison Barnes.

Center

Andre Drummond’s price has risen after three straight poor performances. The Bulls have not been good against centers and this is Drummond’s gold opportunity to get back on track. He’s a bit tough to trust in cash, but he’s a fantastic GPP play due to his 20-20 upside.

The Pacers have been getting torched by centers, most notably by Hassan Whiteside. Marcin Gortat is one of my favorite center plays and I may even roll him out in cash games. Give the Polish Hammer a long look.

Salah Mejri is just $3,100 and he’s facing a massive Nuggets team. Mejri will likely be tasked with guarding Nikola Jokic. It will likely end up poorly for Mejri, but he has a great chance for 6-8x value today.

Speaking of Nikola Jokic, he’s on my radar again. Since moving to the starting lineup, Jokic has been miserable. By that, I mean the guy can’t stop fouling! He’s played 26, 19, 20 minutes over his last three games due to foul trouble. Even with those low minutes, he’s still producing some crazy stat lines. If he can hit 30 minutes, look out.
