Hitters

Play of the Day: Giancarlo Stanton-- Stanton remains in this spot after breaking the Marlins franchise record by going deep for the 43rd time this season last night, and fifth-straight game. The matchup is not easy tonight vs Bumgarner, but Stanton is 8-for-16, with a HR off of him, and Bumgarner isn’t one to pitch around a player.

Top Play: Kris Bryant-- Bryant is just as hot as Stanton, having gone deep in back-to-back games for the first time since August of last season. Bryant has reached base safely 15 times over his last four games, and is batting .465 over his last 11 games.

Pivot Play: Travis Shaw- Shaw and the Brewers have a key series matchup vs the Pirates this week. Shaw hopes to be back in the lineup tonight vs Nova, as he is 10-for-13, with three homers lifetime against him. Shaw is on a nice seven-game hit streak, and the Brewers offense is coming off a strong series vs the Reds.

Value Play: Neil Walker- -Walker faces one of his old teams tonight in the Pirates. Walker is 8-for-13 with a HR over his past three games, and is 8-for-24, with three homers vs the Pirates this season.

Pitchers

Play of the Day:  Alex Wood-  Pitching is loaded with options tonight, but it starts with the pitcher on the best team in baseball. Wood and the Dodgers are big favorites at home vs the White Sox, who are also the lowest projected run total team of the night. Wood is 14-1, with a 2.37 ERA this year, and averaging a little over a strikeout per nine innings this season. The White Sox have hit left handed pitching well this season, but are still the worst team in the A.L., and lose a hitter tonight.

GPP Play: Jacob deGrom -- deGrom is the underdog vs Sonny Gray and the Yankees tonight. deGrom is 9-2, with a 1.82 ERA, and 85 Ks over his past 11 starts. The Yankees won with the long ball last night, but deGrom has only allowed three homers over his last nine starts.

Pivot  Play: Sonny Gray--  Gray is making his home debut for the Yankees tonight, and still looking for his first win with his new team. Gray has pitched well lately though, going 4-4, with a 1.75 ERA over his last eight starts. Gray has pitched at least six innings, while allowing two runs or less over those eight starts.

GPP Play: Marco Estrada--  Estrada is more of a pick against the Rays than believing in Estrada. Marco is 0-3, with a 10.05 ERA in three starts vs the Rays this year, and just 1-7 over his career vs them. He’s pitching much better lately though, as Estrada has pitched seven innings in each of his last three starts, going 1-0, with a 1.71 ERA. The Rays have been ice cold from the plate, hitting just .168 over their last 10 games.
