As you can see from the OL page, Draftkings is including 10 games for their early slate, skipping early game in Toronto, as well as the later afternoon game in Texas. FanDuel’s afternoon is their 9 game afternoon slate starting at 3:05 and includes the Texas game. The evening slate consists of only four games tonight.

As always, things can change based on lineups and weather, so do stay up to date using the Playbook Pro tools. Below are my favorite stack options for the day. Good luck!

Stacks for Saturday, June 17

Brewers

There are plenty of options for stacking purposes this afternoon. Although we have to monitor the weather for rain, it’s looking like it will be another hot one for most of the country today. To avoid any weather at all, the Brewers are in another nice spot today at home vs the Padres. Thames won it for them in walk off fashion last night, and actually all 11 of the runs scored were knocked in via the long ball (7 total) .

The Padres send Lamet to the mound, who had started out great, but has given up 14 earned runs over last two starts (8 innings). That included giving up three long balls to the Royals at home during his last start. He has also been having trouble keeping the ball down, as opponents have a groundball rate of just 30.6% (15/49) against Lamet (Rank: 159th of 163 qualified SPs in MLB).

Opponents have a Well-Hit Avg of .389 (14/36) against Dinelson Lamet on fastballs over the last 30 days (Rank: 152nd of 152 qualified SPs in MLB; League Avg: .204), but the Brewers are batting just .239 on fastballs away and .195 on high fastballs his season. If the Brewers can stay patient, expect a few more bombs from them tonight, plus a few more walks as well.

If paying up for pitching, I don’t mind pairing the Brewers with the Rays against Fulmer. He is still not 100%, and the Rays should be back to their lefty heavy hitters today.

Top Stack Suggestions: Eric Thames, Travis Shaw, Keon Broxton, Manny Pina or Jett Bandy @ catcher, Domingo Santana.

Alternative Stack: On all other sites other than DK, can full stack the Seattle @ Texas team.

Cardinals

While the Brewers went deep four times last night, the Cards went deep five times from five different players while putting up an 11 spot last night. While Guasman was easy to pick on, so has been the case with Wade Miley lately. After a nice start to the month by earning the win vs Boston, Miley hasn’t made it out of the third inning in each of his last two starts.

While the Cardinals are towards the bottom in the league against lefties this season, Miley is only 1-2 with a 4.13 ERA in four career starts vs them. Fowler has gone deep in two straight, and is 6-19 with a HR off Miley, while Carpenter is 6-11 off him without a strikeout. Overall, St. Louis has a team average of .328 in 58 AB’s vs Miley.

I don’t mind full stacking this game, and targeting Wainwright, but the O’s have not been great lately. Interesting note, Wainwright is facing the O’s for the first time in his career today, and the only MLB he has yet to face in his career. Only Castillo has hit him well though, and think you may be better off looking at another team to stack with Cards, or wait to find some value once lineups become confirmed.

St. Louis: Matt Carpenter, Jedd Gyorko, Dexter Fowler, Yadier Molina, Jose Martinez

Astros paired with Angels

If playing the late night slate with only four games, and early concerns about the game in Minnesota, I don’t mind going with a popular Houston team, and pair them with a team that disappointed last night in the Angels. Usually on these small slates, you can roster whomever you want, and there really isn’t a pitcher outside of Jake on the evening slate that costs anything.

Houston faces Porcello tonight, who couldn’t break out of slump vs the Phillies even in his last start. He’s allowed at least 8 hits in seven straight starts, but will stay in the game as he consistently throws 100 plus pitches each outing. Opponents have a Well-Hit Avg of .408 (20/49) against Rick Porcello on the first pitch of at-bats this season (Rank: 101st of 103 qualified SPs in MLB; League Avg: .246), while 13.4% of Astros' hitters plate appearances have lasted only one pitch this season (Rank: 1st of 30 in MLB).

The Angels have a chance to redeem themselves fantasy wise with a short slate opportunity vs Junis tonight. He’s a great prospect for the Royals, but has struggled his past two outings, allowing four HR’s, while surrendering 10 runs (7 earned) in just 10 ? innings. The selection of Angels will come down to salary constraints after plugging in the Houston players I like most.

Houston: Brian McCann, Carlos Correa, Jose Altuve, Marwin Gonzalez, George Springer

Angels: Kole Calhoun, Cameron Maybin, Yunel Escobar, Albert Pujols or C.J. Cron.
