Phil Hughes went 6 2/3 innings, allowed four runs, and struck out three batters on Wednesday night.

This outing was far shakier than his previous two, where he lasted seven innings and only allowed two runs in both. In any event, Hughes still managed to pick up the win against the Sox on Wednesday afternoon, as his six innings and four earned runs were enough to get the Twins the “W”. Besides for his inflated 4.59 ERA, his low strikeout rate is alarming for fantasy owners, as he has now failed to strikeout more than four batters in a game in six consecutive outings. Hughes is a veteran pitcher who should get things back on track, but still, don’t expect him to accomplish this while striking out a large sum of batters.  Analysis: Dom Murtha
