Cavaliers NBA DFS Breakdown

We need to know what will happen with Jarrett Allen in this game. Despite being seen with a practice jersey on, he didn't practice on Thursday. If he doesn’t play in this game, there’s a case to be made for a LOT of Cleveland here.

Without Jarrett Allen, Donovan Mitchell, Evan Mobley, Darius Garland, Max Strus are all primary options. Isaac Okoro will start, but Marcus Morris Sr. is a better value.

With Allen in the lineup, all of those same guys are more GPP plays than anything else. I still think Morris is in front of Georges Niang and probably takes the Tristan Thompson/Sam Merrill minutes from Game 5.

Thankfully, this game is the first one on the docket so we’ll know ahead of time. Okoro and Caris LeVert are nothing more than last pieces in.

Top Play(s): Donovan Mitchell, Evan Mobley, Darius Garland, Marcus Morris Sr. (starting) Max Strus

Secondary Play(s): Caris LeVert

Magic NBA DFS Breakdown

The Magic are one of the few teams left in the postseason that continue to extend their rotation, but we know at the top, Paolo Banchero, Franz Wagner, Jalen Suggs, and lately, Wendell Carter Jr. are all going to be extended. All four can be deployed in whatever format you want to use them in.

Gary Harris is questionable in this game but did participate in the walkthrough portion of Magic’s practice on Thursday, suggesting he is closer to playing than he’s not. He only played 19 minutes in Game 5 and if he’s at all banged up, that’s the likely scenario here again.

What does that? That means more of Jonathan Isaac, especially at the end of the game. It probably also means more Markelle Fultz because Orlando can play Jalen Suggs off the ball if need be.

Moritz Wagner is definitely in play in GPPs and let's not forget, role players have felt mighty comfortable at home a LOT during this postseason, and we saw how electric the Amway Center was for Games 3 and 4.

Top Play(s): Paolo Banchero, Franz Wagner, Wendell Carter Jr., Jonathan Isaac

Secondary Play(s): Jalen Suggs

Punt(s): Moritz Wagner, Markelle Fultz

Clippers NBA DFS Breakdown

Despite a bad Game 5, my Clippers stock has not waivered on today’s NBA DFS slate. Especially if Terance Mann can’t play, their rotation will be shrunk even further. Mann did go through shootaround, so his status is trending in the right direction.

This postseason, without Kawhi Leonard on the floor, James Harden has averaged 1.1 FP/min and Paul George sits at 1.12. George is at 28.7% USG and Harden is at 24.2% this postseason. They were closer to 1.3 FP/min during the regular season, too, so they’re elite plays at their ceiling.

The Clippers have a big advantage down low with Ivica Zubac averaging 1 FP/min and is crushing any center Dallas throws at him. He just needs to stay out of foul trouble. Terance Mann continues to shoot the ball well and is a solid value as long as he’s out there.

Amir Coffey is likely to start, but I’d prefer to get to Norman Powell and Russell Westbrook off the bench. Westbrook has been BAD this series, but his 26% USG so if some shots simply fall, he has a ceiling.

Top Play(s): Paul George, James Harden, Ivica Zubac, Norman Powell (GPPs)

Secondary Play(s): Russell Westbrook, Terance Mann

Mavericks NBA DFS Breakdown

Game 5 was a great display of Luka Doncic and friends. He was the best player on the floor after a shaky series to that point. If Doncic is making shots at the clip he did in Game 5, he’s really tough to stop. He’s the top overall option on the slate if you make the rest of your lineup work. If you can’t afford Doncic, Kyrie Irving isn’t a bad consolation either.

The rest of the Mavericks are interesting. P.J. Washington is FINE at 5.9K on DraftKings and if that’s where you land, it’s FINE. I am very interested in Derrick Jones Jr. and Dereck Lively III. Jones Jr. continues to shine on the defensive end guarding Paul George, but he’s made multiple threes in back-to-back games. Lively has been the better center option between he and Daniel Gafford and Lively is also $600 cheaper.

Maxi Kleber and aforementioned Gafford and large-field tournament plays only.

Top Play(s): Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving, Derrick Jones Jr.

Secondary Play(s): Dereck Lively II, P.J. Washington

Punt(s): Maxi Kleber (large-field GPPs)
