2022 Player Outlook
LeMahieu dropped almost .100 points off his 2020 league leading BA and .228 points off his 2020 career best .590 SLG. An abdominal sports hernia that eventually required surgery, ended his season prematurely however, he should be fully recovered and ready for the 2022 season. LeMahieu didn’t go to the opposite field as much, (perhaps due to his abdominal injury), as he did during the 2020 season and that may partially explain his lack of home run power and overall regression at the plate. As a player with a lifetime .300 BA LeMahieu should be considered a good candidate for a bounce back season. Based on his recent history if healthy, LeMahieu can potentially provide fantasy managers with a .290 plus batting average, 90 plus runs scored and a home run total in the upper teen to low 20 range. As per his early preseason NFBC ADP, LeMahieu is being selected in the 10th round of a typical 12 team league. That’s good value for a player with his type of multi-position eligibility and potential upside.
