Welcome to the DFS Watch List for NFL Week 10!

Raise your hand if you're glad Week 9 is over. Yeah, me too. Wow. We witnessed some horrible games, what with Josh Allen and the Bills losing to the Jaguars, the Cowboys not showing up against the Broncos and the Chiefs looking like a third-rate offense against the Packers. Scoring was down all over the place and unless you locked onto a certain group of players, you probably struggled with your DFS lineups.

We did a great job in cash games as we relied on Lamar Jackson, Nick Chubb, Keenan Allen and Hunter Renfrow, all of whom returned very strong value. Even Mike Gesicki as our tight end returned close to even money. But our GPP work was obliterated as Ezekiel Elliott got hurt, Aaron Jones was shut down and the Bengals offense got its teeth kicked in. I'm not sure if I've mentioned it this season, but you should always be playing enough cash games to cover potential losses in GPP tournaments. That's how I was able to, at least, break even this past week. My cash winnings covered my entry fees for GPP tournaments on both Draft Kings and Yahoo Fantasy and I actually made a few extra bucks playing extra cash games on FanDuel. Just a little something I do to hedge and keep from losing money when I have a down week in GPP tourneys.

Before we move forward, let's take a quick look back…

So what exactly did last week's Playbook deliver? As always, we like to check in to ensure we remain on the right path.

Scoring The Playbook Week 9

A low scoring week for DFS on most sites with 204 winning the millionaire maker on DraftKings. Strong consistent performance from the Playbook and three bullseyes in the dart board highlight Week 9.  Here are some more highlights:

  • Quarterbacks in the Playbook averaged 2.9X Value at 19 points
  • 6 of the top 13 Tight Ends were in the Playbook
  • New England DT scored 20 points
  • The Dart Board added huge value with Brandon Aiyuk (4.8), Donovan Peoples-Jones (3.8) & AJ Dillon (2.8) all had huge Value multiples.
  • The highest score that could be made using just the 44 players in the Playbook & Dart Board would have been 3rd in the Milly Maker on DraftKings with 201.4

For any newcomers this week:

“If you give a man a fish, he’ll eat for a day. If you teach a man to fish, he’ll eat for a lifetime.”

We take this adage to heart when it comes to playing NFL DFS. The Fantasy Alarm Playbook isn’t just about handing you a list of players and a lineup to use each week. It is designed to help you learn to be a better DFS player. It’s about teaching you the process used in selecting which players to scout and, eventually, which ones to use.

Therefore, we will begin each week with the Weekly NFL DFS Watch List which is designed to keep tabs on marquee names, chalk plays and, of course, the weekly bargains who may not see the same coverage and exposure. This piece will be continuously updated throughout the week, based on the most recent news and injuries which means you may see a name or two removed as we get closer to kick-off. You may also see a few late-week additions who pique our interest for some reason too, and by the end of the week, this Watch List will eventually become your Playbook. Again, it’s about teaching you the process.

Also remember, the DFS Watch List focuses on the Sunday Main Slate. We cover Thursday, Monday and Sunday Night Football via Showdown slate coverage.
