MLB DFS Value Vault June 11: Lock In Michael Harris Tonight

Baseball all day. There certainly are worse ways to spend a Saturday than that, so why not also pick up some cash while doing so by playing some MLB DFS. As far the slate goes, options are all over the place but for our purposes we are considering the games beginning at 4 PM on east coast as the MLB DFS main slate. That gives us eight games to choose from on DraftKings, 10 on FanDuel, and 11 on Yahoo Fantasy. Make sure to stay aligned all day with the latest MLB weather, MLB news, and MLB lineups. Now it’s time to go through some MLB DFS value options to help save some cash.
MLB DFS Value Pitchers
DraftKings - $6,500; FanDuel - $8,100; Yahoo - $35
It hasn’t been the best of seasons for Zach Plesac but we are forced to have short memories here, and in that sense, Plesac becomes a little more attractive. The fact that he takes the mound against Oakland today is the first plus, but Plesac also has games of 18.5 and 26.5 DK points in his last two as he allowed three runs over 12 innings while striking out 13. On an overall basis, Plesac has a 4.72 ERA but that is enough to work with here in a favorable matchup.
DraftKings - $8,400; FanDuel - $8,400
Today is not the easiest of days when it comes to value priced pitching options, so we have to spend up a little higher for Mike Clevinger. With that being said, it’s not the worst thing in the world as we get the San Diego right-hander against a Colorado team away from Coors Field. After working his way back into action from Tommy John surgery and making three starts, Clevinger returned from a triceps injury and was eased back into action once again throwing three innings in his last outing (60 pitches). With a 3.18 ERA and 10.59 strikeouts per nine innings, we shouldn’t have to worry about performance here as I would expect him to pitch deeper into the game today.
MLB DFS Value Hitters
DraftKings - $2,900; FanDuel - $2,300; Yahoo - $11
Michael Harris is coming off a two-hit effort last night against Pittsburgh, and with five hits in 10 at bats over his last three games the rookie is hitting .298 since his promotion with eight runs scored in 49 plate appearances. Atlanta has a favorable matchup against Zach Thompson today and Harris also benefits from the platoon advantage. The Braves will be a popular stack tonight and the rookie outfielder will be an affordable piece of that.
FanDuel - $2,500; Yahoo - $13
Nico Hoerner has found himself batting in the middle of the order for the Cubs and prior to going hitless on Friday, the shortstop had a modest five-game hitting streak. That brought Hoerner’s batting average down to .283 on the season but he does a good job of putting the bat on the ball with just an 11.9% strikeout rate. Hoerner also doesn’t walk but he has driven in 16 runs while also stealing six bases which does give him some DFS value.
DraftKings - $2,200; FanDuel - $2,600; Yahoo - $17
Things aren’t going well for Charlie Morton this season and that makes some Pirates bats a solid option today. This includes Jack Suwinski who has been a solid source of power to this point with eight home runs in 119 at bats so far this season. Platoon splits have also worked to Suwinski’s advantage here as he is hitting .268 against right-handed pitching so far this season and with a 13.1%-barrel rate, good things are happening when he makes contact.
DraftKings - $3,200; FanDuel - $2,600; Yahoo - $8
Don’t look now, but Maikel Franco has a modest 10-game hitting streak with hits in 12 of his last 13 games which brought his batting average up to .269 on the season. Nothing about Franco truly stands out, but the third baseman also hasn’t been bad this season either with five home runs, 28 RBI, and 20 runs scored. At this price point, we aren’t looking for much from Franco, and based on what we have seen lately, he should be in position to deliver.

Astros general manager Dana Brown said Jeremy Peña (rib) could return as early as August 1st.
Peña faced live pitching in Florida over the weekend, and Brown said he wanted him to get in a few rehab games before rejoining the team. Assuming there are no setbacks, the Astros could be getting their shortstop back by the end of the week.
Astros general manager Dana Brown said Yordan Alvarez (hand) is “ramping up his workload” and will face live pitching soon.
Brown expects Alvarez to quickly move to a rehab assignment after that and expects that to be a short stint wherever he goes. “I’ll take a 75% Yordan Alvarez over some of the guys we have now,” is how Brown phrased it. With Jeremy Peña and Isaac Paredes also out, the Astros are pushing hard to get Alvarez back into the lineup, but it seems like he won’t be 100 percent when he returns.
Astros general manager Dana Brown said Spencer Arrighetti (thumb) will make one more rehab start and then return to the Astros rotation.
Arrighetti looked good in his last start on Saturday and will likely move to Triple-A Sugar Land to make his final start on Thursday or Friday. He will return to Houston after that and join a team in the middle of the pennant race. He should be added in all formats ahead of his return. Brown also noted that Cristian Javier (elbow) will be “shortly after” Arrighetti, so we could be looking at a two-week wait until Javier returns to Houston.
J.P. France (shoulder) allowed three runs on five hits in two innings for Double-A Corpus Christi on Sunday.
France struck out three and walked one while throwing 30 of his 48 pitches for strikes. The 30-year-old is making his way back from shoulder capsule surgery in the off-season and could move his rehab assignment to Triple-A for his next start.
Bailey Ober (hip) allowed one run on two hits in five innings for Triple-A St. Paul on Friday.
In what will be his final tune-up start before coming off the IL, Ober struck out six and walked one. His fastball was up to 92 mph but sat at 90.5, which is not where he normally is, but it was a rehab start, so you have to imagine there will be a little more in the tank when he starts against Boston on Wednesday. Much of Ober’s struggles this year have been limited to June, when he was dealing with hip inflammation, so the 30-year-old could be in for a big second half if he’s fully healthy.
Giants’ manager Bob Melvin confirmed Sunday that Carson Whisenhunt will start on Monday against the Pirates.
It always seemed unlikely that the team would go with two consecutive bullpen games, though there had been a chance that they would move Justin Verlander up a day to make that start. Instead, it’ll be Whisenhunt making his MLB debut. The 24-year-old southpaw has posted a 4.42 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and an 86/28 K/BB ratio over 97 2/3 innings in 18 starts at Triple-A Sacramento this season. Given the strong matchup, he could be worth a look as a streaming option in deeper mixed leagues and NL-only formats.
