Wednesday’s main slate treats us to 10 games, most of which have plenty of value for us to exploit. If you like paying up for one of the studs, then you’re going to need plenty of value bats if you want the likes of Max Scherzer, Gerrit Cole, Carlos Rodón and/or Frankie Montas. Fortunately, there’s a lot of value to be had, and actually feel good about! Whether you’re looking at cash games or GPPs, there’s plenty of value below for your FanDuel, DraftKings and Yahoo lineup(s)!

All Sites

Carson Kelly, C ARI ($2,400 FD/$3,100 DK/$8 Yahoo) - Here’s what you need to know. Kelly has a 1.037 OPS against lefties this year, and his 11.8 AB/HR against LHP is exceptional. Furthermore, he’s no stranger to Alex Wood, going 4-for-9 with a home run and three RBI against the San Francisco southpaw. If you don’t fancy Kelly as your catcher this evening, there’s another catcher below that you can get on Yahoo for a similar price.

DJ Peters, OF TEX ($2,200 FD/$2,500 DK/$15 Yahoo) - It’s hard to beat Peters’ BvP numbers against Janson Junk. In two at-bats against Junk, Peters has two home runs and four RBI. Peters is on the wrong side of his splits, and Junk’s for that fact, but the past performance has been there, and he’s near minimum price on FanDuel and DraftKings this evening. UPDATE: Peters isn’t starting. If you want another Texas bat, look at Willie Calhoun.

Yahoo

Anthony Rizzo, 1B NYY ($13) - Rizzo is 3-for-9 with a home run against José Berríos and the New York first baseman has hit safely in three of his last four outings. Rizzo has hit lefties better than righties in 2021, but he’s been solid against Berrios, and he’s sporting an excellent .400 batting average and .950 OPS in 20 at-bats against the Blue Jays this season.

Buster Posey, C SFG ($11) - In 20 career at-bats against Merrill Kelly, Posey has nine hits (2 HR) and seven RBI, good for a .450 batting average and .500 wOBA. Wow. Posey has killed lefties this season, but his .278 batting average and .830 OPS against righties isn’t horrible by any means. He is sporting a .307 batting average at home this season, and he loves facing Arizona, as he’s hit Arizona pichers at a .356 clip with a 1.113 OPS in 2021.

FanDuel

Nathaniel Lowe, 1B TEX ($2,900) - Unlike Peters, Lowe is on the good side of the splits here against Los Angeles’ Janson Junk. The right-hander has allowed lefties to hit .320 this season with a .431 wOBA, and Lowe has a .420 slugging percentage and .774 OPS against righties in 2021. Over the last two weeks, Lowe is hitting .261 with an .870 OPS, and he has three home runs and seven RBI across 62 at-bats against the Angels this year.

Amed Rosario, SS/OF CLE (3,000) - When attacking Daniel Lynch, you want to avoid left-handers, because the Kansas City southpaw has been brutal on them. However, right-handers have had the upper hand. Lynch has allowed a .301 batting average and .376 wOBA to right-handed hitters this season, and Cleveland’s Amed Rosario has a .312 batting average against southpaws in 2021. Despite hitting just .233 in the month of September, Rosario has turned it up of late, hitting .364 with a .937 OPS over his last 22 at-bats.

DraftKings

Brandon Nimmo, OF NYM ($3,300) - Nimmo is 3-for-8 in his career with a home run against Miami’s Elieser Hernandez and the way to attack Hernandez is with left-handed bats. Lefties have a .407 wOBA against Hernandez, compared to a .287 mark for righties. Nimmo has. 1.021 OPS against Miami in 2021, and he’s hitting .294 with a .529 slugging percentage over the last two weeks.

Oscar Mercado, OF CLE ($2,600) - Also from Cleveland, Mercado is in play. In 2021, Mercado has posted a .272 batting average and .766 OPS against southpaws. He’s struggled of late, but he’s on the good side of his splits, and worst side of Lynch’s, so I don’t mind sliding him in a mini-Cleveland stack in a GPP, if you’re feeling frisky.
