Each site is doing their “main” slate a little differently today, so keep an eye on that. Here is a quick breakdown:

  • FanDuel has a four-game main slate that starts tonight at 7:00pm ET
  • DraftKings’ largest slate is the eight games in the 12:00-4:00pm ET window
  • Yahoo’s main slate begins at 4:05pm ET

You’ll have to get creative on FanDuel, since you have such a small player pool to pick from, but there’s plenty of value to be had. If you want to pay up for pitching, you can certainly do that, as I found plenty of value on the offensive side of the ball for each site. Keep on reading to find my two favorite value bats on each slate.

Yahoo!

Aaron Judge, OF NYY ($15) - Aaron Judge is 3-for-8 with two home runs against Chicago’s Lance Lynn in his career. It hasn’t been quite a powerful month for Judge, as he has just a .747 OPS in August. However, his .447 slugging percentage is far from bad, and he’s feasted on Chicago pitching this year. He’s hitting .455 with a 1.026 OPS against Chicago this year and he has an .897 OPS on the road. I’m surprised he’s this cheap on Yahoo today.

Alex Dickerson, OF SFG ($11) - If you’re a sucker for BvP data like me, buckle up. This one is crazy. San Francisco’s Alex Dickerson is 9-for-18 with a home run against Colorado’s Germán Márquez. Dickerson’s numbers are superior against lefties compared to righties, but he has Marquez figured out, and he has an .804 OPS against Colorado pitching in 2021. Marquez has been solid of late, but his 4.00 ERA on the road is higher than his 3.05 ERA at home.

FanDuel

Jo Adell, OF LAA ($2,300) - You’re going to have to differentiate on such a small slate like this one on FanDuel. Take a look at Adell. He’s 8-for-18 with four doubles against right-handers this year, good for a .444 average and 1.140 OPS. In August, Adell is hitting .290 with a .753 OPS. The nine strikeouts this month are still a bit of a problem, and José Berríos is tough on right-handed hitters, but Adell does have a .485 wOBA against right-handed pitching in 2021.

Asdrúbal Cabrera, 1B/3B ARI ($2,800) - Like I said with Adell: You’re going to have to get creative. Cabrera is 9-for-27 with three home runs against Yu Darvish in his career. Furthermore, Cabrera’s .282 home average and .837 home OPS are far better than his .217 average and .664 OPS marks on the road. There’s quite a few Diamondbacks with good BvP numbers against Darvish, so if you’re feeling really wild, maybe a stack against Darvish? Maybe?

If you’re playing the early slate on FanDuel, look at Oakland right-handed hitters (Starling Marte, Josh Harrison, Mark Canha), Myles Straw and Kolten Wong.

DraftKings

Anthony Santander, OF BAL ($2,600) - Santander’s batting average against righties might not be anything to celebrate, but he has homered once every 17.5 at-bats against righties and he is swinging a hot bat. He’s hitting .455 with a 1.500 OPS over the last seven days and against Detroit pitching this year, he has a .1231 OPS with three home runs in just 20 at-bats!

Jarred Kelenic, OF SEA ($2,300) - Seattle stack today! Mike Foltynewicz has allowed a .289 batting average to left-handers this year and an OPS that is just a couple home runs away from having a one in front of the decimal point. Well, it feels that way at least. Regardless, Kelenic is hitting .278 with a .909 OPS in the month of August and he has a .905 OPS over his last 22 at-bats with four extra-base hits and four runs scored.
