MLB World Series Game 6 Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 10/31

Before we jump into the MLB World Series Game 6 Best Bets, let’s quickly set the stage for Friday night. The Blue Jays won again on Wednesday with a 6-1 victory in Game 5. Rookie Trey Yesavage made history with his 12 strikeouts over 7 nearly flawless innings. The Toronto offense set the tone in the first inning with Davis Schneider and Vladimir Guerrero hitting back-to-back homers to begin the game.

The World Series shifts back to Toronto for Game 6. We have a starting pitching matchup of Yoshinobu Yamamoto vs. Kevin Gausman with the Blue Jays looking to clinch the title. Let’s now get to our Blue Jays vs. Dodgers predictions and MLB World Series Game 6 Best Bets.

Blue Jays vs. Dodgers World Series Game 6 Predictions: Friday, October 31st

Both starting pitchers in this game should have the edge and set the tone for a lower-scoring matchup. Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Kevin Gausman have both been strong in the postseason, and they can keep it going tonight. We’ll take the under for the full game and first five innings.

After tossing a complete game masterpiece in Game 2, Yamamoto now boasts a 1.57 ERA across his 4 playoff starts. The Dodgers’ right-hander also threw a complete game in his previous NLCS start against the Brewers. He also owns an impressive 26:4 K:BB ratio in the postseason thus far.

Yamamoto’s dominance also extends back into the regular season. The righty now has a 1.15 ERA over his last 9 starts. Plus, he’s allowed fewer than 2 earned runs in 8 of his last 9 outings. The guy is simply on another level right now.

It’s hard to imagine the Blue Jays having much success tonight. Yes, they already faced Yamamoto. And yes, the Toronto offense is averaging 5.8 runs per game in the World Series. But the LA starter will be up for the challenge. Yamamoto had an elite 2.13 ERA on the road this season, and his excellent Game 2 start came on the road.

Meanwhile, Kevin Gausman should limit a Los Angeles lineup that’s looked lifeless lately. The Dodgers have scored only 3 runs over the past 2 games combined. They’ve also scored just 4 runs over the last 29 innings, including part of that marathon Game 3. Plus, the LA hitters collectively have a rough .201 batting average in the World Series.

Gausman, meanwhile, owns a 2.55 ERA across his 5 postseason appearances (4 starts) this month. The Toronto righty also has a 2.53 ERA over his past 11 outings overall. He was solid in Game 2, holding the Dodgers to 1 run over the first 6 innings before giving up a pair of solo homers in the 7th.

In addition to the impressive current form of both starting pitchers, we also have the unique situation of this Game 6 that should keep the scoring low. The Dodgers have to win to stay alive, and the Blue Jays will want to end the series now to avoid a Game 7. So, expect all of the top arms from both bullpens to be used – especially early if the need arises.
