Once again, a busy Friday night slate with some intriguing options. Not going to pay the "Coors” tax on this slate with two good pitchers on the mound, so finding variance against the masses makes sense. There's some very good match-ups without breaking the bank and be sure to monitor weather along with lineups posted leading up to lock in MLB DFS. Good luck!

Top Tier

Manny Machado, San Diego - 3B ($5,600 on DraftKings, $4,000 on FanDuel)

In the midst of a nine-game hit streak during which Machado's hitting .400/.432/.800 with four home runs and eight RBI meets up with a struggling southpaw headed to San Diego this evening. Caleb Smith's ERA sits above 12 his last four starts giving up six home runs over his last 15.1 innings. Machado's hit four home runs in home games facing left-handed pitching with a .326 isolated power, a 1.041 OPS and launched one in previous match-ups versus Smith plus boasts a .883 expected slugging in them. Look for positive migration the mean and a big night from the Padres.

Starling Marte, Oakland - OF ($5,000 on DraftKings, $4,100 on FanDuel)

Another hot hitter, Marte's slashing .360/.429/.520 in six games with his new team, Oakland. He's also produced a double, a home run and five stolen bases his last 28 plate appearances scoring five runs. Texas sends Mike Foltynewicz to the mound tonight and his 8.39 road ERA averaging 4.95 home runs per nine innings to right-handed hitters. So, a hot hitter with power upside who could also notch a combo meal (home run and a stolen base) on Friday night? Delicious.

Mid Tier

Giancarlo Stanton, New York Yankees - OF ($4,200 on DraftKings, $3,600 on FanDuel)

This represents a boom or bust option, but Stanton may be turning the corner with multiple hits in each of his last three games. He faces Marco Gonzales tonight at home and owns a home run against him, among his two hits in past meetings toting a .472 expected batting average and enticing 1.474 expected slugging rate. Betting he connects on a home run this evening in a crush spot since he's a streaky hitter about to go on a power surge.

Trey Mancini, Baltimore - 1B ($4,700 on DraftKings, $3,200 on FanDuel)

Although he's slumped a bit in the second half, Mancini's eyes light up with a southpaw on the mound, especially one named Ryan Yarbrough. Through their previous match-ups, Mancini's 8-for-22 (.364) with two doubles and three home runs along with launching seven home runs at home this year in only 61 at-bats (one every 8.7) with a 1.051 OPS.. While many chase hitters in Coors, get some bats in Camden Yards tonight as well.

Bargain Bats

Ha-Seong Kim, San Diego - 2B/SS ($2,900 on DraftKings, $2,200 on FanDuel)

Korean import Kim hits over 60 points higher against left-handed pitching so far in the MLB with seven doubles and a home run in 72 plate appearances. He's produced six of his eight extra-base hits at home where he faces Smith tonight. With positional eligibility and a prime match-up, Kim makes perfect sense during lineup builds with a .267 isolated power versus southpaws at home and a 132 wRC+. Giddy up.

Rowdy Tellez, Milwaukee - 1B ($3,200 on DraftKings, $2,800 on FanDuel)

A match made in heaven bringing Tellez and his sweet power swing to Milwaukee. Since joining the Brewers, he's slashing .340/.438/.660 with five home runs and 16 RBI in only 21 games spanning 61 plate appearances. In home contests, his OPS jumps to an eye popping 1.461 with a .455 batting average, three home runs in only 22 at-bats plus 10 RBI making him a below the radar target in a game many will avoid for DFS purposes.
