The Edmonton Oilers could reportedly be interested in acquiring Petr Mrazek this off-season, according to TSN's Pierre LeBrun.

On the latest edition of "Insider Trading," LeBrun mentions that the Oilers want to upgrade in goal and that they could target Matt Murray or Darcy Kuemper, but he also stated that Mrazek could be their Plan B. Of course, Oilers GM Ken Holland knows Mrazek from their days together in Detroit. The Hurricanes netminder has one year remaining on a contract that comes with a cap hit of $3.125 million. The 28-year-old had a 21-16-2 record with a 2.69 goals-against-average and a .905 save percentage during the regular season.

The Vancouver Canucks might ultimately trade Jake Virtanen.

There's reportedly plenty of interest in Virtanen on the trade market. Although Canucks GM Jim Benning said that he expected more from Virtanen in the 2020 playoffs, they would still like to keep him, but that not be the best path forward from a cap perspective. He's a restricted free agent with arbitration rights due for an upgrade after completing his existing two-year, $2.5 million contract.

The Edmonton Oilers are reportedly interested in acquiring Oliver Ekman-Larsson from the Arizona Coyotes.

It's not out of the realm of possibility that Ekman-Larsson could be traded, but it would be difficult for the Oilers to make it work. Ekman-Larsson comes with an $8.25 million cap hit through 2026-27 and the Oilers are in a somewhat tough cap situation as it is, so taking on that contract would be tricky. Plus Ekman-Larsson has a no-movement clause and would consequently need to approve a trade to Edmonton. Ekman-Larsson would be a nice fit for Edmonton though, so it makes sense that the Oilers would be pushing for him even with those hurdles to overcome. The Boston Bruins are also believed to be among those looking to acquire Ekman-Larsson.

TSN's Darren Dreger believes that Henrik Lundqvist will be bought out by the New York Rangers, perhaps as early as Wednesday.

It would mark the end of an era for the Rangers. There was a time when Lundqvist was the biggest factor in the Rangers success and when he retires, he will be remembered as one of the greatest goaltenders of his era. However, he's 38-years-old now and the Rangers have two young goaltenders ahead of him in the depth charts in Alexandar Georgiev and Igor Shesterkin. To keep Lundqvist on the roster would mean starting the season with three goaltenders, which is far from an ideal scenario. Lundqvist has one season remaining on his seven-year, $59.5 million contract. Buying him out would save the Rangers $3 million in cap space next season by reducing his cap burden from $8.5 million to $5.5 million, but it would give them a $1.5 million cap penalty in 2021-22.

The Nashville Predators are undecided about what to do with Kyle Turris.

Turris has completed just two seasons of a six-year, $36 million contract that's looking pretty bad these days. He had just 23 points in 55 contests in 2018-19 and only bounced back slightly in 2019-20 with nine goals and 31 points in 62 contests. "When we made the trade for Kyle ... (he) was a terrific player and he really gave our team a boost," Poile said. "But for whatever reason it hasn't gone well in the last couple years, and those are the things in these next couple weeks that we're going to weigh in terms of what we should do and what we're doing. I don't want to take anything off the table." It's possible that the Predators will buy him out, but that would be a very tough pill to swallow. If they bought him out now, that would be $2 million of dead weight against the cap for each of the next eight years. That does mean that they'd save $4 million in cap space for each of the next four campaigns, but in the long run it'd be problematic. If the Predators can find a trade partner for Turris, that would be ideal, but his market value has to be low at this point. It wouldn't be surprising if he ends up starting the 2020-21 campaign with Nashville.

Sabres GM Kevyn Adams isn't planning on trading Jack Eichel.

Eichel is frustrated with the Sabres' performance over the first five seasons of his NHL career, but his agent, Peter Fish, already said that his client "doesn't want out." Now Adams is confirming that the Sabres are planning on keeping him. "Here's the thing: People call and make phone calls and ask about players every day,” Adams said. “My job is to listen. ... We have no intention and we're not looking to do anything with Jack." TSN’s Bob McKenzie reported that the Rangers are one of the teams who reached out about Eichel's availability. It makes all the sense in the world that there are teams who would be interested in acquiring him and given that the Sabres have a new general manager, those teams could have picked now to check in, but it's also unsurprising that Adams doesn't want to trade his franchise player. As always, anything is possible, but it would be shocking to see Eichel traded over the offseason.
