Ketel Marte appeared to suffer a serious leg injury, possibly his right hamstring, during Wednesday's game against the Rockies.

Marte looked as if he tweaked his right hamstring badly while running out a grounder to first base, hopping on one leg afterward before landing on the grass. The 27-year-old was then helped off the field by the training staff. Tim Locastro moved to center field upon Marte's exit from the game. Fingers crossed. More details to follow.

Eduardo Escobar went 2-for-5 with a home run, double, two runs scored, and two RBI against the Reds on Sunday.

Escobar had himself a big series against the Reds as he homered for the fourth consecutive game, a two-run blast in the fifth inning to put the Diamondbacks up 6-0. The 32-year-old veteran is red hot as he had two hits in each of the three games against Cincinnati.

David Peralta went 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored, three RBI, and a walk Sunday against the Reds.

Peralta broke the game open against Jose De Leon and the Reds with a three-run shot that traveled 414 feet to right-center in the third inning to put the Diamondbacks up 4-0. The 33-year-old veteran had his second extra-base hit of the day in the fifth inning with a double off of De Leon and later drew a walk. A day like this could be what Peralta needed to get going after a slow start going 5-for-35 entering play Sunday.

Luke Weaver struck out eighth batters over seven scoreless innings with just one walk and one hit allowed in a 7-0 win over the Diamondbacks on Sunday.

Weaver was excellent on Sunday, shutting down the Reds offense by generating 17 whiffs on 52 swings and throwing 63-of-94 pitches for strikes. Nine of those whiffs came on the changeup that he paired well with the fastball. The 27-year-old right-hander went exclusively to the fastball-changeup combo as he's seemed to get away from the cutter and curveball so far this season. Weaver is in line to face the Nationals on the road in Washington next weekend.

Marlins manager Don Mattingly indicated Sunday that a trip to the injured list is possible for Jorge Alfaro (hamstring).

Alfaro missed his fourth consecutive game on Sunday due to lingering tightness in his left hamstring. It sounds like if he's unable to return on Monday, that the team will send him to the IL (on a backdated stint) and call up additional catching depth. Fantasy managers relying on Alfaro for next week should be sure to have a contingency option in place.

Jose De Leon gave up six runs on eight hits and three walks with nine strikeouts Sunday in a loss to the Diamondbacks.

De Leon just couldn't keep the Diamondbacks offense in check despite generating 18 whiffs and striking out nine on the day. The 28-year-old right-hander was tagged with a three-run shot by David Peralta in the third inning to put the Diamondbacks up by four. Eduardo Escobar would later get him with a two-run blast to right field in the sixth. The strikeouts have been there for De Leon, but too much hard contact has hurt him in the early going. De Leon will look to get better results next time out when Cleveland visits the Reds in Cincinnati next weekend.

Trevor Story went 2-for-3 with two walks on Sunday against the Giants.

Story was the bright spot on an otherwise quiet day for the Rockies offense as he reached base four times and had the only extra-base hit with a double off of Anthony DeSclafani to lead off the sixth inning. The 28-year-old shortstop is still searching for his first home run, but a 48.5 percent hard-hit rate suggests the power will be coming.

Brandon Belt went 1-for-2 with a home run, two runs scored, one RBI, a stolen base, and two walks against the Rockies on Sunday.

Belt had himself a big day with a home run off of German Marquez in the sixth inning. The 32-year-old first baseman stole his first base of the season in first inning and came around to score on a single by Evan Longoria. He'd reach base two more times by way of the walk. Belt was off to a slow start (2-for-18 with seven strikeouts), so a game like today's is just what the veteran needed.

German Marquez allowed three runs on six hits and three walks with seven strikeouts on Sunday in a loss against the Giants.

Marquez was hurt by the long ball on Sunday in San Francisco as he gave up a home run to Alex Dickerson in the first inning and a solo shot to Brandon Belt in the sixth. The 26-year-old right hander was able to get seven punch-outs on the day by generating six whiffs on ten swings with the curveball. Marquez is in line to face the Mets at home in Colorado his next time out.

Anthony DeSclafani tossed six scores innings with six hits and one walk allowed with eight strikeouts in a 4-0 win over the Rockies.

DeSclafani was impressive Sunday against the Rockies as he struck out eight batters over his six innings of work. The 30-year-old right hander generated a whopping 16 whiffs -- six on the fastball. DeSclafani threw 64-of-94 pitches for strikes and issued just one free pass. Through two starts, he's allowed just one run over 11 innings with 12 strikeouts. DeSclafani is in line to face the Marlins in Miami next weekend.

Trea Turner went 3-for-4 with a stolen base on Sunday against the Dodgers.

Turner was just about the only bright spot in the Nationals lineup on Sunday with three base hits. He moved into scoring position with his first stolen base of the season in the third inning. The 27-year-old star shortstop is 7-for-23 to begin the year with two home runs and the one steal.

Kenley Jansen struck out two batters in a perfect ninth inning to record his second save on Sunday against the Nationals.

Fantasy managers got a scare on Friday when it Corey Knebel recorded the save for the Dodgers. Manager Dave Roberts was just giving Jansen a day off to manage his workload as the 33-year-old veteran closer looked sharp on Sunday. Jansen was averaging 93.5 MPH on the cutter and topped out at 94.4. He'll be just as effective as long as he maintains that velocity, something his workload management will no doubt play a part of.

Zach McKinstry went 2-for-3 with a home run, double, one run scored, and three RBI against the Nationals.

McKinstry would provide all the offense the Dodgers needed on Sunday with a two-run double off of Max Scherzer in the second inning. The 25-year-old would later tack on an insurance run with a solo blast off of Tanner Rainey in the seventh. McKinstry had just one hit over his previous 16 at-bats coming into this one as he's filled in for Mookie Betts (back). He'll likely revert back to a bench role with limited playing time once Betts returns.
