The previous record of six was held by many including teammate Drake Batherson who did it earlier in the season. “It means a lot, to be honest,” Brown said of the record. “I feel like I’ve grinded pretty hard in my career. There have been times that I have been a checker and I’ve had a good opportunity here under D.J. to play offensively, to find my game, and I really feel like I’m finding it more and more.” Brown has 13 goals and 23 points in 42 games this season as he has found a home in Ottawa.

The Detroit Red Wings made Jon Merrill a healthy scratch on Saturday, with the trade deadline of Monday looming.

The Red Wings did not want to risk an injury to their veteran defenseman who is likely on his way out of the Motor City and on his way to a playoff-bound team as Merrill will be an unrestricted free agent come the summer. “We lose a big body that’s smart, has done a really good job for us," coach Jeff Blashill said. "He’s defended well. He’s got poise and he’s got moxie and confidence.” Merrill does little offensively as he has only five assists in 36 games this season.

Dylan Cozens (upper body) returned to practice Sunday.

Cozens has been out of action since March 29 but has responded very well to treatment and will be a game-time decision Sunday. "This was sprung on us a couple of days ago on how fast he responded to day-to-day tests, as they elevated the tests on him. Today was the test to feel where he's at, in respect to playing," interim coach Don Granato said after Saturday's session at KeyBank Center. "I have not talked to the medical team, but going into practice, that was a definite possibility. He came out of practice looking great, so unless I hear differently, it looks like there's a probability of him being in the lineup." Cozens has four goals and a pair of assists in 24 games this season and is one player the Sabres are counting on to lead them in the future after he was drafted seventh overall in 2019.

Dan Vladar will get the start in goal for Boston Sunday.

There was some thought that the start could go to Tuukka Rask who is coming off injury but the Finnish netminder is not ready to go according to coach Bruce Cassidy. Rask is expected to play at some point this week as he has been out since March 25 with an upper-body injury. Vladar is 2-1-1 with a 2.25 GAA and a .922 save percentage. It may be tough starting Vladar in DFS as the Bruins have four regular defensemen who are expected to be out of the lineup.

Kevan Miller is likely to be a healthy scratch Sunday as the Bruins do not want him playing on back-to-back days.

Miller is having reoccurring knee problems and it may be too much to ask for the defenseman to play back-to-back contests. The Bruins are hurting on the blueline with Charlie McAvoy, Brandon Carlo and Matt Grzelcyk on the shelf with injuries but it would be better to use a rookie Sunday than risk further damage to Miller's knee.

Connor McDavid was not at all happy with the NHL's decision to reschedule the Calgary-Edmonton game to Saturday.

The Oilers had a memorial service earlier in the day on the first year anniversary of the passing of teammate Colby Cave. The memorial was planned weeks ago when the Oilers were off on Saturday, but due to the Canucks being hit hard by COVID-19, this game was re-scheduled to Saturday night. "You’re asking a lot from guys, to sit through something like that, remember your teammate (Colby Cave), see what the whole family is going through, and be expected to perform that night. I’m not sure what the league was really thinking there," McDavid said. And he was right. There are certainly more important things than rescheduling a game, especially with the NHL adding an extra eight days to their schedule to accommodate the problem in Vancouver.

Jonathan Quick made 26 saves during Saturday's 4-2 win over the San Jose Sharks.

Quick allowed two goals on a total of 28 shots and finished the night with a .929 save percentage. Quick gave up one goal in the first and one later in the third, but overall he had a pretty good game. The 35-year-old netminder now has picked up two back-to-back wins after being on a four-game losing streak just a while back. A win in this game helps lift his season record up to 8-8-2.

Dustin Brown picked up two points during Saturday's 4-2 win over the San Jose Sharks.

Brown's first point of the night came as an assist on a goal scored by Alex Iafallo 3:23 into the second. Later in that same period, Brown picked up a goal of his own on the power play. This goal would end up being the game-winner. After this performance, Brown now has 16 goals and nine assists for a total of 25 points on the year. He also now has picked up three points in his past two games. With another goal in this game, Brown continues to lead the Kings roster in terms of scoring.

Martin Jones made 15 saves during Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Los Angeles Kings.

Jones allowed four goals on 19 shots and posted a save percentage of .789 in just about two periods of play before he got pulled from the game. Prior to this game, Jones had only picked up one loss in six appearances. He now adds to the loss column with his performance tonight, as his record drops to 15-9-2. He will look to bounce back when the Sharks face off against the Anaheim Ducks on Monday.

Meier's goal was the last goal scored in the game. It came 12:31 into the third period on the power play and cut the Los Angeles lead in half. Although, it was not enough to fuel a comeback and the Sharks exited this game with a loss. After tonight, Meier now has eight goals and 16 assists for a total of 24 points. He currently has points in back-to-back games against the Kings.

Jacob Markstrom picked up a shutout during Saturday's 5-0 victory over the Edmonton Oilers.

Markstrom stopped all of the 17 shots that he faced to secure his third shutout of the year. He now has the third-most shutouts out of any Calgary netminder in their first season with the Flames. Although Markstrom did not face a lot of pressure in this matchup, he still did what he had to do in order to pick up a win that improves his record to 13-14-2. This was a much-needed win for the 31-year-old goalie, as he finally managed to break a six-game losing streak.

Dunn ended up with a plus-1 rating, a blocked shot and two minor penalties with two hits in 20:40 of ice time across 30 shifts. The rearguard is working on a season-high three-game point streak, posting at least one assist and at least a plus-1 rating, totaling five helpers and a plus-4 rating during the span. It's his longest point streak since he had four helpers in a three-game span from Feb. 6-13.
