Oliver Bjorkstrand scored a goal and an assist in Thursday night’s 3-2 overtime loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Pierre-Luc Dubois’ ice time, or lack thereof, was the main story of the night, but in the midst of all the controversy, Bjorkstrand had a really nice night. In fact, his first period goal that was set up on a beautiful play by Max Domi, was the fastest goal scored in a home opener in the history of the Columbus Blue Jackets. Bjorkstrand quietly has two goals and three assists in five games this season. Bjorkstrand should be on a lot of fantasy GM radars as he is a free agent in 43% of Yahoo fantasy leagues.

The Penguins also had Evan Rodrigues on the ice for practice. "There's no status change other than Dumo and E-Rod practiced in a full capacity today," said coach Mike Sullivan. "It felt great to be back out there with the team. I'm happy to be back," Rodrigues said. "With any injury, you just have to be positive about it and turn your focus to doing everything you can to get back out there." “I feel great, I’m ready to go," Ryan said. "Fully functional and ready to get back on the ice and help the guys get after it.” He was put on waivers on Tuesday and cleared Wednesday, so the Flames have the ability to move him back and forth from the taxi squad again. Ryan hasn't played since Feb. 4 because of a fractured finger.

Markstrom said “it was a good day today" following the session, but he would not commit to playing against Ottawa on Thursday night. Coach Geoff Ward said that Markstrom is getting final medical clearances and he's close to being ready to return. This was his first practice with the team since being moved to injured reserve with an upper-body injury. Markstrom hasn't played since Feb. 20.

This will be the first time in his nine seasons with the Wild that Parise will be a healthy scratch. He didn't participate in line rushes during the morning skate. Parise was on the ice for a lengthy 1:33 shift prior to the game-tying goal for the Golden Knights in Monday's 5-4 OT loss. Vegas got the equalizer with just 42 seconds remaining in the third period. Parise has contributed just three goals and six assists in 19 games this season.
