Ronald Jones said he's "feeling better than last week."

Jones played through a quad injury against the Saints but managed to dodge any setbacks. He was limited in practice on Wednesday and could threaten Leonard Fournette's role as the lead back on Sunday now that he's feeling better. Jones has primarily been limited to early downs this season, but coach Bruce Arians has been willing to ride the hot hand at times, too. Projecting this backfield is a challenge week-to-week. The injuries have only added to that.

Washington assigned the franchise tag to RG Brandon Scherff.

This is the second straight tag for Scherff after he made $15.03 million on the tag last year. The goal this time around is to hammer out a long-term deal. The 29-year-old started all 13 games he appeared in last season and was named a first-team All-Pro. If Scherff plays on the tag, it’ll be for over $18 million.

Dolphins acquired OT Isaiah Wilson from the Titans.

The two teams are swapping seventh-round picks to complete the deal. Wilson, of course, was the 29th overall pick in last year’s draft and proved to be a total waste of space in Tennessee. He was popped for a DUI and spent two stints on the COVID list only to play a whopping three offensive snaps for the Titans. At the end of the day, though, it’s a good move by Miami. Wilson was a first-rounder for a reason. Tennessee just wanted him gone.

Jets assigned the franchise tag to S Marcus Maye.

Maye turns 28 on Tuesday and is fresh off grading out as Pro Football Focus' No. 5 overall safety last season when he started all 16 games and batted a career-high 11 passes while picking off two and registering two sacks. Maye was given a chance to shine in the absence of Jamal Adams, and now he's cashing in with a fully-guaranteed, one-year pact worth $10.5 million. He'll have to prove it again unless the Jets get Maye a multi-year deal before the July deadline.

Cowboys re-signed QB Dak Prescott to a four-year, $160 million contract.

He gets $126 million guaranteed and a no-trade clause. This one wasn't leaked to the media, as the team announced the deal and scheduled a press conference for Wednesday. Prescott "played" last season on the franchise tag but obviously missed all but five games with a gruesome ankle/lower leg injury. Prescott is reportedly on track to be ready for training camp despite needing a second clean-up surgery in December. He doesn't turn 28 until July and is smack-dab in the prime of his career, assuming he recovers normally from that ugly injury. Prescott was going to be a darkhorse MVP candidate if he could have stayed healthy last season. The Cowboys were putting up huge offensive numbers with Prescott healthy, and he has one of the best supporting casts in football. Dallas just needs to get its offensive line healthy and figured out. Prescott is a QB1 in fantasy after finishing 2019 as the overall QB2 in points per game.

All were exclusive rights free agents. Needham in particular will collect $850,000 in 2021. Munson primarily played on special teams last year, registering a career-high 220 snaps (49%) with that unit.

Currently rehabbing a torn Achilles' that forced him to miss the entirety of last season, it's still possible the Giants re-sign Core to a team-friendly deal in free agency. The organization will at the very least dodge the $500,000 roster bonus he was due on March 20.

Raiders released DB Lamarcus Joyner.

Las Vegas will take on $2.5 million in dead cap space from Joyner’s contract rather than paying him the $9.95 million he was due this upcoming season. Signed to a four-year, $42 million deal in 2019, 30-year-old Joyner essentially accrued $22 million for 28 games, failing to record a single interception in two seasons. He'll go down as one of the biggest free agency whiffs of Jon Gruden's and Mike Mayock's tenures.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports free agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick does plan on playing in 2021.

There's been some public debate (and refuting reports) on Fitzpatrick's status for 2021, but Rapoport confirms the 38-year-old veteran intends on testing the market. The former stated as early as last month that he still thinks he can be a starting quarterback, and he'll likely have the opportunity to prove as much as a coveted option with experience. The Broncos remain an ideal destination if only to compete with Drew Lock.

Detroit blew right past the tender for Ford, a restricted free agent, instead deciding to officially keep him under contract. Primarily a special teams player, the 25-year-old totaled just 58 reps on defense in 2020.

When asked about DT Geno Atkins' future with the organization, Bengals director of player personnel Duke Tobin responded, "We'll see."

Atkins is due $24.6 million in base salary through 2022 but Cincinnati can logically move on from the 33-year-old this offseason, freeing up $12.1 million in cap space with a post-June 1 designation. Atkins had surgery for a torn rotator cuff in January but is expected to be at full strength to open the regular season. Even so, his current status will likely halt any trade discussions that may have happened otherwise.
