Hawks GM, Travis Schlenk, said that Danilo Gallinari will be John Collins' backup this season.

“We made it clear to him the role he was signing up for was to backup John," said Schlenk, on a call with season ticket holders. "He made the decision eyes wide open. We try to be transparent with all our guys. He knew what he was signing up for and that’s where I anticipate it starting.” It sounds like Gallinari will be transitioning to a sixth man role for the first time in his career, so his minutes may be in the mid-20s rather than the 30s, which will limit his upside. This also could devolve into a bit of a timeshare situation with Collins, so you might want to knock him down a few pegs on your draft board, while Cam Reddish gets a bit of a boost here.

John Wall (knee) played 21 minutes in Saturday’s win over the Mavericks, finishing with seven points ( 3-of-9 FGs, 1-of-2 FTs), one rebound and eight assists.

Originally ruled out for the rest of the week, Wall was able to make his return to the lineup Saturday night. His minutes were capped, and with the Rockets extending their lead early in the fourth quarter Stephen Silas was able to get his starting point guard extra rest. Wall didn’t shoot the ball well, but he tallied eight assists with just one turnover. This isn’t “prime” Wall, but he’s still providing fourth-round value in 8-cat and sixth-round value in 9-cat. Hopefully his production improves as he shakes off the rust that accumulated during his nine-game absence.

DeMarcus Cousins had his best game in three years Saturday night, accounting for 28 points (9-of-15 FGs, 6-of-7 FTs), 17 rebounds, five assists and four 3-pointers in a win over the Mavericks.

Filling in for the injured Christian Wood (ankle) for a second straight night, Cousins played 30 minutes and bounced back from his brutal showing in Detroit. This was Cousins’ best stat line in three years, but given his recent injury history the fact that he played 63 total minutes in two nights is the big takeaway. Boogie’s fantasy value takes a major hit when Wood is healthy enough to play, so we’ll see what happens between now and Houston’s next game on Tuesday vs. the Wizards. Given how depleted Washington is in the post, that sets up to be a big game for Cousins if Wood is unable to go.

Bogdanovic didn’t have his best night shooting the basketball, but he made up for it in other areas. In addition to the season-high eight assists, he matched his season-best with seven rebounds. Bogdanovic ranks well outside of the top-200 in 9-cat for the season, well below his Yahoo ADP (127), but things may be turning around. He has now hit double figures in five straight games, his longest such streak of the season.

Donovan Mitchell shot 9-of-18 from the field and 2-of-3 from the foul line in Saturday’s win over the Warriors, posting a line of 23 points, seven rebounds, six assists and three 3-pointers in 27 minutes.

Two days after a rather awkward appearance on “Inside the NBA,” Mitchell put up another quality performance as the Jazz rolled to their ninth straight victory. After getting off to a slow start to begin the season, “Spida” has been a top-20 player in both 8- and 9-cat formats over the last week. He and the Jazz are rolling, and at this rate Mitchell may find himself in some MVP conversations before long.

Andrew Wiggins shot 5-of-9 from the field and 1-of-2 from the foul line in Saturday’s loss to the Jazz, finishing with 13 points, five rebounds, two assists, three blocks and two 3-pointers in 25 minutes.

Wiggins has been a top-100 player in both 8- and 9-cat formats this season, with his production as a shot-blocker being one reason why. With three blocks Saturday night, he’s had two or more in six games this season. It’s worth noting that Wiggins was in the midst of a dry spell of sorts, as he tallied a total of two rejections in the four games prior. What the Warriors and fantasy managers need now is for Wiggins to get better at the foul line, as he entered Saturday shooting just 54.5% from the charity stripe over the last week.

Brandon Ingram notched his third 30-point game of the season on Saturday, tacking on four rebounds, two assists and a block in the loss.

BI hit 11-of-20 field goals, two 3-pointers and all six of his freebies but the Pelicans came up short to the Wolves. Still, Ingram has played well this season, averaging nearly 23/6/5 and providing top-50 value, although his ADP was 37.3 in Yahoo this year.

Joel Embiid was unstoppable on Saturday vs the Pistons, dropping 33 points with 14 rebounds, an assist, a steal and a block in the win.

He was questionable coming into the game but what's not questionable is his case for MVP this season. Embiid shot 50% from the floor and 12-of-17 from the line, securing his 11th double-double and leading the Sixers to their 12th win this year. And though it hurts fantasy managers when he sits games, his near 32% usage rate and sixth overall ranking in 9-cat make up for it.

With the Warriors getting blown out, Curry did not play at all during the fourth quarter. The good news is that he had already made history, passing Reggie Miller to move into second on the NBA’s all-time 3-pointers list. The only player between Curry and the top spot is Ray Allen, but he may not be able to pass “Jesus Shuttlesworth” until early next season.

Nunn had himself another good game off the bench, as he’s scored 18 or more in four straight. With Jimmy Butler (health and safety protocols) and Tyler Herro (neck) both sidelined, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to grab Nunn as a short-term option. Over the last week he’s been a top-20 player in both 8- and 9-cat formats, but is rostered in just 43% of Yahoo leagues.

Goran Dragic finished Saturday’s loss to the Nets with 19 points (7-of-18 FGs, 5-of-5 FTs), one rebound and seven assists in 31 minutes.

One night after playing 34 minutes, Dragic played another 31 in the second game of a back-to-back. Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said before the game that he wants to get Dragic’s minutes down to a more manageable level. However, that has proven tough to do as Miami is still without Jimmy Butler (health and safety protocols) and Tyler Herro (neck). "This is not something I want to continue for months. But we need him to do a little bit more [due to absences],” Spoelstra said. "I’ve still been able to manage his minutes as a starter, just being mindful of that going forward." Dragic’s fantasy value increases with Butler and Herro sidelined, so his being able to take on this workload is good news for those who have him rostered.

KZ Okpala played 10 minutes in Saturday’s loss to the Nets, accounting for three points (1-of-2 FGs), two rebounds, one blocked shot and one 3-pointer.

Okpala didn’t play at all during the first half. But with Moe Harkless ruled out for the remainder of the game after suffering a left thigh bruise during the second quarter, Okpala was on the court to begin the second half. The young forward could be in line for a short-term minutes increase if Harkless has to miss additional time, but that won’t be enough to make Okpala a player worth considering in any fantasy format.

Adebayo put forth one of the best performances of his NBA career Saturday night, as he surpassed the 40-point mark for the first time and also dished out nine assists. And for fantasy managers whose leagues make use of assist-to-turnover ratio, Adebayo was responsible for just one turnover on the night. That statistical category has been an issue for the young big over the last week, as he entered Saturday averaging 4.3 turnovers per game. That’s the difference between sitting just inside of the top-100 (9-cat) and being a top-50 (8-cat) player during this stretch.
