Brad Stevens said that due to the shortened offseason, it'll be some time before Kemba Walker is going "full speed."

"We haven't settled on any timelines, this is more of a plan appropriately thing so that he can play and play uninhibited as he moves forward, a lot like the bubble," Stevens said when asked if Walker would be ready for the start of the season. "The bubble was unique, because you went basically four months off, so there was a different challenge there in that ramping up was a big threat to everybody, but certainly if you had a situation like his where if he goes too fast, too soon that probably wouldn't have been good." If The Bubble is the model, that's not great for Walker's outlook, as he averaged just 25.1 minutes per game in the eight Bubble games and was rested twice. He also never felt right in The Bubble, which is concerning considering it was preceded by a four-month layoff. This report is enough to scare us off from drafting Walker during the early-rounds.

Reid used a big 14-point first half to power his way to a season-high scoring night that helped Minnesota pick up a win without D'Angelo Russell (rest) and Karl-Anthony Towns (COVID). The former LSU Tiger has notched double-figure scoring in three straight games now, averaging 15.6 points, five rebounds and 2.6 blocks in that stretch. He's also made 16-of-25 field goals five 3-pointers, making him a great part-time hold until KAT returns.

Jalen Smith finished Saturday’s double-overtime loss to the Nuggets with five points (2-of-3 FGs), two rebounds, one blocked shot and one 3-pointer in nine minutes.

Due to an ankle sprain and a case of COVID-19, Smith had been absent from the Suns rotation since the second game of the season. The rookie has a lot of work to do before he receives consistent rotation minutes, so he can be left on the waiver wire for the time being.

Jones had one of his better games this season against the Mavericks, with the 16 points being the most that he’s scored since January 16 vs. San Antonio (career-high 24). No Victor Oladipo (rest) freed up a few minutes for the rookie, who played just three Friday night. Jones isn’t worth rostering right now, regardless of league format, but he deserves credit for his showing Saturday night.

David Nwaba played 27 minutes off the bench in Saturday’s win over the Mavericks, accounting for 18 points (6-of-7 FGs, 4-of-5 FTs), two rebounds, three assists, one steal and two 3-pointers.

With Victory Oladipo (rest) being given the night off, there were a few more minutes available to Nwaba. And he took advantage, establishing a new season-high in points while also dishing out three assists. Over the last week Nwaba, who’s rostered in just 2% of Yahoo leagues, has provided top-30 value in 9-cat formats. Nwaba is worth a look right now, especially in deeper leagues, as he’s playing the best basketball of his career to date.

Eric Gordon shot 10-of-17 from the field and 7-of-9 from the foul line in Saturday’s win over the Mavericks, putting up 33 points, three rebounds, two assists and six 3-pointers in 30 minutes.

Gordon was one of four Rockets to post season-highs in points Saturday night, and his 33 are the most that he’s scored in a game since he torched the Jazz for 50 last season. Victor Oladipo (rest) being sidelined for this one gave Gordon some more run as the primary playmaker for the second unit, and it also got him more shot attempts. His 17 field goal attempts were the most of any Rocket, with DeMarcus Cousins (15) being the only other player in double figures. The shot distribution, which has been far more equitable, is quite the departure from the James Harden era. That’s good news for fantasy managers who have Gordon rostered, as he could be more than a points and 3-pointers option moving forward.

Jarred Vanderbilt tallied season-highs with 16 points and 11 rebounds on Saturday in the Wolves 120-110 win over the Pelicans.

Vanderbilt got another start on Saturday and he made the most of it, recording his second double-double this season and did so in just 21 minutes. He shot 8-of-13 from the floor and has now had back-to-back outings with at least 10 points, two steals and a block. JV is currently rostered in just six percent of Yahoo leagues and is worth a pick-up in deep leagues for those whose teams are battling injuries and COVID concerns.

John Wall (knee) played 21 minutes in Saturday’s win over the Mavericks, finishing with seven points ( 3-of-9 FGs, 1-of-2 FTs), one rebound and eight assists.

Originally ruled out for the rest of the week, Wall was able to make his return to the lineup Saturday night. His minutes were capped, and with the Rockets extending their lead early in the fourth quarter Stephen Silas was able to get his starting point guard extra rest. Wall didn’t shoot the ball well, but he tallied eight assists with just one turnover. This isn’t “prime” Wall, but he’s still providing fourth-round value in 8-cat and sixth-round value in 9-cat. Hopefully his production improves as he shakes off the rust that accumulated during his nine-game absence.

Eric Bledsoe recorded a season-high 28 points on Saturday vs the Wolves, hitting 11-of-23 field goals, three triples and 3-of-6 free throws.

It was nice to see Bledsoe have a big game as he's been up and down this season and had been struggling to make jumpers for some time. He did most of his damage in the first half, scoring 19 points, which was more than his total output from the two previous games combined. He also added five boards, three assists and a steal in 34 minutes to round out his night. If you were thinking about trading Bledsoe, now would be a good time to do so while his stock is high. He might not score over 25 points again as his previous season high was 21.

DeMarcus Cousins had his best game in three years Saturday night, accounting for 28 points (9-of-15 FGs, 6-of-7 FTs), 17 rebounds, five assists and four 3-pointers in a win over the Mavericks.

Filling in for the injured Christian Wood (ankle) for a second straight night, Cousins played 30 minutes and bounced back from his brutal showing in Detroit. This was Cousins’ best stat line in three years, but given his recent injury history the fact that he played 63 total minutes in two nights is the big takeaway. Boogie’s fantasy value takes a major hit when Wood is healthy enough to play, so we’ll see what happens between now and Houston’s next game on Tuesday vs. the Wizards. Given how depleted Washington is in the post, that sets up to be a big game for Cousins if Wood is unable to go.

Bojan Bogdanovic played 26 minutes in Saturday’s win over the Warriors, finishing with 14 points (3-of-13 FGs, 5-of-6 FTs), seven rebounds, eight assists and three 3-pointers.

Bogdanovic didn’t have his best night shooting the basketball, but he made up for it in other areas. In addition to the season-high eight assists, he matched his season-best with seven rebounds. Bogdanovic ranks well outside of the top-200 in 9-cat for the season, well below his Yahoo ADP (127), but things may be turning around. He has now hit double figures in five straight games, his longest such streak of the season.

Donovan Mitchell shot 9-of-18 from the field and 2-of-3 from the foul line in Saturday’s win over the Warriors, posting a line of 23 points, seven rebounds, six assists and three 3-pointers in 27 minutes.

Two days after a rather awkward appearance on “Inside the NBA,” Mitchell put up another quality performance as the Jazz rolled to their ninth straight victory. After getting off to a slow start to begin the season, “Spida” has been a top-20 player in both 8- and 9-cat formats over the last week. He and the Jazz are rolling, and at this rate Mitchell may find himself in some MVP conversations before long.

Andrew Wiggins shot 5-of-9 from the field and 1-of-2 from the foul line in Saturday’s loss to the Jazz, finishing with 13 points, five rebounds, two assists, three blocks and two 3-pointers in 25 minutes.

Wiggins has been a top-100 player in both 8- and 9-cat formats this season, with his production as a shot-blocker being one reason why. With three blocks Saturday night, he’s had two or more in six games this season. It’s worth noting that Wiggins was in the midst of a dry spell of sorts, as he tallied a total of two rejections in the four games prior. What the Warriors and fantasy managers need now is for Wiggins to get better at the foul line, as he entered Saturday shooting just 54.5% from the charity stripe over the last week.
