The deal will pay him a $750,000 salary if he makes it to the big leagues, per USA Today's Bob Nightengale. Wojciechowski, 32, posted a rough 6.82 ERA, 1.62 WHIP, and 31/15 K/BB ratio in 37 innings of work (seven starts, three relief appearances) last season with the Orioles. He owns a career 5.95 ERA at the MLB level.

The deal was agreed to back on January 12 and has now been made official after Robertson passed the necessary pre-signing physical exam. A career .234/.342/.352 hitter in 855 total plate appearances at the major league level, the soon-to-be 27-year-old projects to operate in a super-utility role for Milwaukee in 2021.

Cincinnati definitely has a need at shortstop and Simmons would be a huge addition defensively. The 31-year-old slashed .297/.346/.356 with zero home runs and two stolen bases over 30 games (127 plate appearances) last summer for the Angels before opting out in September because of concerns about COVID-19.

According to FanSided's Robert Murray, the Braves are "circling" on free agent catcher J.T. Realmuto.

Murray adds that "other teams on the west coast" are also expressing interest. Jon Heyman of MLB Network reported Wednesday that the Phillies are "believed" to have an offer on the table to Realmuto worth upwards of $110 million, but the 29-year-old catcher is probably aiming a little higher than that after watching 31-year-old outfielder George Springer sign a six-year, $150 million contract with the Blue Jays on Tuesday. Travis d'Arnaud currently projects as the starting catcher in Atlanta for 2021, coming off a terrific showing in 2020.

Miles Mikolas (elbow) has resumed throwing off a mound.

Mikolas sat out all of 2020 due to a flexor tendon strain that eventually required surgery, but he expects to be fully ready for the start of spring training and wants to go 170-200 innings in 2021. "My arm feels good — I actually had a nice bullpen (session) today, my second bullpen," the 32-year-old right-hander told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch on Wednesday. "Just a light, almost what you’d call touch-and-feel to kind of get back into the rhythm. But my rhythm was good. I was hitting spots, I was keeping the ball down."

Morosi notes the connection between Gonzalez and new Tigers manager A.J. Hinch, as they spent many years together in Houston. According to Ken Rosenthal and Jake Kaplan of The Athletic, the Astros have signed free agent catcher Jason Castro.

Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle passes along word that it's a two-year agreement, and USA Today's Bob Nightengale hears that it will come with $7 million in total guaranteed money. Castro was selected 10th overall by the Astros in the 2008 MLB Draft and spent the first seven years (2010-2016) of his big league career in Houston, so this will be a reunion of sorts. He had also been connected to the Cubs, Rangers, and Tigers this winter. The 33-year-old stumbled to a .188/.293/.375 batting line over 27 games between the Angels and Padres in 2020, but he had a good showing offensively with the Twins in 2019 and should be a fine left-handed-hitting complement to the right-handed-hitting Martin Maldonado for the 'Stros in 2021.

Dull was with the Blue Jays organization on a minor league contract in 2020 but did not make the team's 60-man player pool when the MLB season finally got underway. The now 31-year-old right-hander surrendered 19 runs -- 18 earned -- over 12 2/3 innings of relief between the Athletics, Yankees, and Jays in 2019.
