Phillies manager Joe Girardi said Monday that Aaron Nola is "definitely a possibility" for the team's Opening Day start on July 24 against the Marlins.

Nola was late arriving to summer camp after being exposed to someone with COVID-19, but he has cleared all of the necessary hurdles within MLB's testing protocol and he looked sharp in an intrasquad game Monday at Citizens Bank Park. The 27-year-old is being drafted as the 11th starter off the board right now in the average Yahoo league. He registered a 3.87 ERA and 229/80 K/BB ratio in 202 1/3 innings last season.

Cessa will join the Yankees' pitching staff ahead of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Phillies after missing nearly two weeks following a COVID-19 diagnosis at summer camp. He figures to operate in long relief.

Cabrera tested positive for COVID-19 at the beginning of summer camp, but he's in better shape now than a number of pitchers on the Cardinals' roster following a team outbreak of the virus in the second week of the 2020 regular season. The 23-year-old left-hander figures to work in relief for St. Louis, though he could be tried as a starter at some point this summer. Alex Reyes (COVID-19) is also due to be activated Friday.

Angels manager Joe Maddon confirmed late Tuesday night that the team is shifting into a closer-by-committee approach.

Maddon made that announcement after Ty Buttrey, not Hansel Robles, was used to close out Tuesday's 5-3 victory over the Mariners. Robles pitched to a 2.48 ERA and 75/16 K/BB ratio in 72 2/3 innings last season while earning 23 saves, but he's been hammered for 10 runs -- nine earned -- in just 3 2/3 innings so far in 2020. Buttrey is the best immediate add off the waiver wire, but Keynan Middleton and Felix Pena could also get looks. Cam Bedrosian hit the injured list before Tuesday's game due to a right adductor strain.

Moore hit his second homer of the season with a shot off of Kenyon Middleton in the seventh. The utility player has performed well in his limited time with the Mariners this year; as seen in his .320 average and .680 slugging percentage. He's a decent DFS play when he is in the lineup against southpaws, but that's about it.

Ty Buttrey fired 1 1/3 scoreless frames to pick up a save on Tuesday against the Mariners.

The Angels' bullpen has been a disaster this year, and while it did allow two runs on Tuesday, Buttrey was able to silence the Mariners' bats to pick up his first save of the season. The 27-year-old threw 11-of-16 pitches for strikes; nice to see from a pitcher that has struggled with command to begin 2020 and also was an issue in 2019. After this effort, it seems possible -- but not a lock -- that Buttrey gets more save chances going forward for the Angels.

Justin Dunn allowed three runs over four innings in a loss to the Angels on Tuesday.

This could have gone much worse. Dunn allowed a solo homer to Mike Trout and a two-run homer in the first, and he had no idea where his pitches were going early on; as seen in his four walks. Give the former top prospect credit, however, as he settled down very nicely and showed off the strikeout-stuff that makes him such an intriguing prospect. Still, until he improves his command -- significantly -- it’s going to be hard to trust him as a fantasy starter. Dunn squares off against the Rangers on Monday.

Andrew Heaney allowed one run over 5 2/3 innings on Tuesday to pick up a victory over the Mariners.

Heaney did not have his best command on Tuesday, as he walked four and threw 52-of-87 pitches for strikes. Still, he was able to get the job done, with the only run coming across on an Austin Nola triple in the sixth. Pitching has been an issue for the Angels to begin the year, but Heaney has been effective with a 2.35 ERA over his first three starts. He’s scheduled to face the Athletics on Monday.

Rios got hit on the foot by a pitch in the fifth inning Tuesday night against the Diamondbacks and eventually departed the game, but it sounds like he could be available again after just a little bit of rest.

Todd Frazier doubled twice and drove in a run on Tuesday in a loss to the Athletics.

Frazier's RBI double in the sixth inning was the only run of the contest for the Rangers, as they were shut down by a very effective Jesus Luzardo. The veteran infielder is hitting only .233 on the season, but his .810 OPS and four doubles show he's still getting on at a decent clip (.343 on-base percentage) and capable of driving the baseball.

George Springer went 1-for-5 but drove in three runs in a rout of the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.

Springer picked up a sac fly in the third, and he picked up his second and third RBI with a two-run double in the fifth inning. The outfielder has really struggled to hit for average over this first 20 percent of the season, but he does have 10 RBI. Springer is just too good to expect him to hit .189/.333/.378 for much longer.

Jose Altuve launched a solo homer to help the Astros to a win over the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.

Altuve got the Astros on the board with a solo shot off of a struggling Madison Bumgarner. That was the only hit of the day, but if you're only going to have one, why not make it a homer? Altuve has now homered twice in 2020, but his .163/.280/.326 line is a disappointment for anyone who selected him with an early pick in March or July.
