The NBA and ESPN plan to televise a HORSE competition is nearing completion and among those expected to participate include Chris Paul, Trae Young and Zach LaVine, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.com.

Woj adds that WNBA players and NBA alumni will be part of the competition. Young has made 11-of-24 shots from beyond 35 feet this season while Zach LaVine is 0-of-2 and Chris Paul is 1-of-13, and Young's range should give him an edge in long-range shots. Of course, LaVine's athleticism will give him an advantage on shots near the basket.

Cam Reddish says he wants to be known as one of the best two-way players in the NBA and that he needs to learn to adjust to how long the NBA season is.

“It’s pretty hectic, and the adjustment was a little crazy,” Reddish said of his rookie season. “But that was one of the biggest things I picked up on, how long the season was. I had to really take care of my body, eat the right things, stuff like that." He also wants to be seen as one of the top players in the league on both ends of the floor. "I definitely want to be known as one of the best two-way players," he said. GM Travis Schlenk has raved about his defense and while he was a bit erratic offensively, he has his entire career to get it worked out. Reddish should be a popular late-round fantasy target next season.

On a recent podcast with colleague Zach Lowe, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski again said that Kevin Durant (Achilles) is not playing this season.

He did rephrase his wording shortly after that though, saying he hasn't heard of any plans for a KD return. The Nets have been adamant all along that it will be up to Durant and the medical staff, but all signs continue to point to him waiting until the 2020-21 season for his Brooklyn debut.

John Wall (left Achilles surgery) said on a recent conference call that he's 110%.

Despite Wall's comments, he and the Wizards have maintained that he won't be returning this season despite the extra time off. Instead, Wall will be a full go for training camp in 2020-21, whenever that will be. Considering he hasn't played since December of 2018, he'll be one of the most polarizing players in fantasy drafts.

Harrison Barnes said he agrees with Damian Lillard that he only wants to play again if the games matter for the Kings.

“I think Dame is right," he said. "If you come back and play, you want to be playing for something.” The Kings had found their stride prior to the suspension of the season with 10 wins in their last 15 games, and Barnes wants to see that through. "This group, where we’re at, we need to play, we need to play together, and playing for something is important.” There is growing optimism that the NBA is considering a 22-team format with a few regular season games before a play-in tournament, so it sounds like Barnes and Lillard will get their wish.

Heat guard Gabe Vincent is reportedly "good to go" despite a knee injury he suffered prior to the NBA shutdown.

The NBA's player union has discussed allowing players on two-way contracts to be eligible for the postseason, which would directly impact Vincent. Miami's VP and assistant GM, Adam Simon, was the person who said Vincent is "good to go," so presumably he'd be available if the Heat need him. Barring some injuries, though, he's unlikely to crack coach Erik Spoelstra's rotation.

Heat assistant GM Adam Simon said that KZ Okpala's defense is NBA-ready and that his offensive game is rapidly improving.

“Once mid-January came around, we saw the strides," Simon said. "The greatest things he was doing were on the defensive end ... [H]e’s a good mid-range shooter. He’s extending out to three-point shooting and has been getting better at that." Okpala lost a lot of time while recovering from a strained left Achilles this season, but it sounds like Miami intends to keep him on the roster if/when the 2019-20 season resumes.

Sixers writers Derek Bodner and Mike O'Connor both speculate that Shake Milton will be a starter when the 2019-20 season resumes.

"[T]he 76ers’ starting five will likely be [Ben] Simmons, Milton, [Joel] Embiid, Josh Richardson and Tobias Harris," writes O'Connor. "That group has logged zero minutes together because of Milton’s recent emergence and the timing of various injuries to others ... [but] Milton has proved better than any of the players coming off the Sixers’ bench. He is the best option as the fifth starter." In 16 starts, Milton averaged 14.1 points on 53.9% shooting, 2.2 triples, 3.6 assists, 3.0 rebounds, 1.1 steals and 0.3 blocks. Those numbers came without Simmons, though, and he'll be a low-end target if fantasy leagues resume for the 2019-20 season.

Cavs guard Collin Sexton would "love to get back on the court" this season.

The bad news for Sexton is that his team had the worst record in the Eastern Conference when the season shut down (19-46). There's still a chance the league invites all 30 teams to resume the season, but there are also scenarios involving 16, 20 or 22 teams. "[W]e just got a new coach, so we’re just pretty much trying to understand how he is and how he’s going to coach," Sexton said. "Those games are definitely going to help us and help our future. If they say we can go play, let’s do it. I’m all for it." Sexton was playing exceptionally well prior to the NBA's hiatus, with averages of 24.1 points (50.1% FGs, 86.5% FTs), 2.2 triples, 4.2 assists, 3.1 rebounds and 1.0 steals in his final 24 games.

Eric Gordon has already lost 12 pounds off his frame by way of track sprints and diet, according to Kelly Iko of The Athletic.

Gordon's knee has been a big problem in his career, so playing at a lighter weight does make sense to help him have a longer, healthier career. Gordon was able to return from a knee injury on Mar. 10 just before the NBA went on hiatus, and was able to get to 30 minutes. Even in 30 minutes, Gordon may not have much fantasy value while Russ Westbrook and James Harden are healthy.

Lauri Markkanen (pelvis) and Kris Dunn (sprained right MCL) have received therapy at the Bulls' practice facilities.

Illinois governor J.B. Pritzker gave the Bulls the go-ahead to resume voluntary, socially-distanced workouts at their team facilities beginning June 3. Markkanen and Dunn were cleared to receive treatment prior to the re-opening, due to pre-existing injuries, which is the case for dozens of players around the NBA. Depending upon how the league decides to resume the 2019-20 season, we could see Markkanen and Dunn on the court in a matter of months.

The Knicks' approach to the offseason is reportedly "centered around finding players who complement rookie RJ Barrett."

According to beat writer Ian Begley, "[S]ome in the [Knicks] organization see finding a lead guard who can knock down a shot as a priority for the offseason." New York was shooting 33.7% from deep as a team in 2019-20, fourth-lowest in the league, and their 9.6 makes per game were dead last. Marcus Morris was the only player on the roster shooting above 36.2% from downtown, and he was traded mid-season. It's obvious that the Knicks desperately need shooters to spread the court, which should inherently benefit Barrett's fantasy value by opening up driving lanes.

Bradley Beal said recently that he views the trade rumors swirling around him as "a sign of respect."

"When you hear that Kyrie [Irving] and [Kevin Durant] want you ... that's amazing," Beal said. "At the same time, you don't know how much there is to it, or how easy it would be to do. And I've put down roots in D.C. I've dedicated myself to this town, this community. I love it here, and it would feel great to know I could grind out winning here instead of jumping to another team. But I'd be naive to say that I don't think about it when these stories come up." The Wizards have been steadfast in their desire to retain Beal, who is under contract through 2022-23.
