Teheran appears to be the likely replacement on the NLDS roster after Chris Martin suffered an oblique injury during Game 1 against the Cardinals on Monday night, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

The Braves haven't made the move official just yet, but per Bowman, Teheran is expected to be added to the roster. Through 33 starts in the regular season, he posted a 3.81 ERA and 1.32 WHIP with a 162:83 K:BB across 174.2 innings of work.

According to ESPN's Jeff Passan, the Dodgers are "monitoring the market" for free agent starter Trevor Bauer.

Passan notes that the Dodgers are currently focused on a right-handed infield bat, but "could be a player" on Bauer "depending on the price." While there hasn't been much recent chatter about the 30-year-old right-hander, momentum does seem to be building this week for a number of big fish on the free agent market. George Springer signing with the Blue Jays on Tuesday might have been the push this sluggish offseason needed. Bauer dominated to the tune of a 1.73 ERA, 0.795 WHIP, and 100/17 K/BB ratio across 73 innings (11 starts) last summer with the Reds en route to claiming the 2020 National League Cy Young Award.

Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports that the Blue Jays "have had an offer out" to free agent reliever Brad Hand.

Toronto has ruled the baseball world over the last 24 hours, and why stop now? Hand, who's also been connected to the Astros, Mets, White Sox, and Dodgers, registered a stellar 2.05 ERA, 0.77 WHIP, and 29/4 K/BB ratio over 22 innings last season for the Indians while recording a league-high 16 saves. He could be a fallback option at closer for the Jays in the event that Kirby Yates does not bounce back health-wise.

Longhi, a 30th-round pick of the Red Sox in the 2013 MLB Draft, slashed .283/.336/.463 with 12 home runs and 51 RBI over 111 games at the Triple-A level in 2019. The 25-year-old outfielder has yet to reach the majors.

ESPN's Jeff Passan is hearing the same thing. Toronto-based broadcaster Hazel Mae reported Wednesday morning that Brantley and the Jays were in agreement on a three-year contract, but she has now recanted that report, citing word from a team official. Nonetheless, it sounds like this should get done eventually.

Russell Martin doesn't plan to sign with a team before the start of the 2021 season, per MLB.com's Jon Morosi.

Morosi adds, however, that the veteran catcher is "keeping open the possibility of playing in the future." Martin, who turns 38 years old in February, batted just .220/.337/.330 with six home runs and 20 RBI over 83 games with the Dodgers in 2019 before failing to latch on with a team for the condensed 2020 campaign.

According to sports broadcaster Hazel Mae, the Blue Jays have signed Michael Brantley to a three-year deal.

TSN's Scott Mitchell reported late Tuesday night that "there's legit legs" to the idea of Brantley and George Springer heading to Toronto as a package deal, and that is indeed how it has played out. The outfield depth chart is now a bit crowded, but the Blue Jays could primarily use Brantley at designated hitter or maybe trade from the surplus to make a much-needed addition at starting pitcher. Brantley, 33, slashed .300/.364/.476 over 187 plate appearances with the Astros in 2020 and provides another big upgrade to the Jays' suddenly deep and dynamic lineup. The financial terms of the three-year contract have not yet been revealed.

The deal carries a potential $1.25 million salary and $1.125 million in performance-based incentives. Davis was once a two-time AL All-Star and down-ballot Cy Young Award vote-getter in Kansas City, but he returns as more of a late-career reclamation project after stumbling to a brutal 9.77 ERA in 47 innings with the Rockies between 2019-2020. The 35-year-old will likely pitch in middle relief if he makes the Royals' roster out of camp.

According to Jon Heyman of MLB Network, the Phillies are "believed" to be offering J.T. Realmuto about $110 million.

That's presumably over a five-year term. Realmuto may be the next big domino to fall in this slow-moving free agent market after outfielder George Springer landed with the Blue Jays late Tuesday night on a six-year, $150 million pact. The 29-year-old catcher has been linked to Toronto at various times this winter, but that ship has probably now sailed. He delivered an .840 OPS with 11 home runs, 32 RBI, four stolen bases, and 33 runs scored over 47 games (195 plate appearances) for Philadelphia during the condensed 2020 campaign.

Blue Jays signed RHP Kirby Yates to a one-year, $5.5 million contract.

The deal contains $4.5 million in performance incentives based on games pitched. If he gets into 35 games this year with the Jays, the salary will climb to $8.5 million. And if he appears in 70 games, he can earn a full $10 million. Yates was limited to six appearances last season with the Padres due to an elbow issue that eventually required arthroscopic surgery, but the 33-year-old right-hander is said to be healthy now and projects to take over the closer role for Toronto in 2021. He registered a dominant 1.67 ERA, 0.906 WHIP, and 191/30 K/BB ratio in 123 2/3 innings with San Diego between 2018-2019 while tallying a total of 53 saves in that span.

MLB.com's Mark Feinsand was first to report news of the agreement and now Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic passes along the contract terms. It's a non-guaranteed deal that will pay Devenski a $1 million salary, with another $350,000 in possible incentives, if he is able to crack the Diamondbacks' major league roster. The 30-year-old former AL All-Star surrendered six earned runs over just 3 2/3 innings last season with the Astros before undergoing surgery in September to remove a bone spur from his right elbow.

Financial details of the contract have not been revealed, though it figures to be a one-year pact with a fairly low base salary. Devenski was a highly effective reliever in his first two major league seasons (2016-2017) but has registered a combined 4.88 ERA in 120 innings since the beginning of 2018. The 30-year-old right-hander required arthroscopic surgery this past September to remove a bone spur from his pitching elbow.

Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports that the Blue Jays are "still trying" for free agent outfielder Michael Brantley.

They just agreed to a reported six-year, $150 million contract with George Springer, but the Jays apparently aren't done spending on bats. Brantley, 33, could be a good option for Toronto at DH, a role he filled 26 times last season with the Astros while delivering an overall .300/.364/.476 batting line with 20 extra-base hits (five home runs, 15 doubles) in 187 plate appearances. Rosenthal notes that Springer and Brantley are "close friends" and also happen to be represented by the same agency, Excel Sports Management. TSN's Scott Mitchell adds that "there's legit legs" to the two heading to Toronto as a sort of "package deal."
