Mikko Lehtonen could be an offensive asset for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Lehtonen was signed out of the KHL where the 27-year-old has been the all-time leader among defensemen in points-per-game, averaging .857 in his career. He had 17 points in 17 games this season after being named the KHL's best defenseman last year and comes to the Maple Leafs looking to crack their top-six or perhaps even being a fourth defenseman. “He should help the Leafs,” said former NHL coach Bob Hartley, who has coached against Lehtonen in the KHL the past two years. “Great vision. Really poised on PP. And a very good skater.” He is worth looking at late in drafts as he could surprise. Dec 21 11:08 am (EST)
