Williams was released by the Pelicans on Tuesday and will return to the D-League, Erik Horne of The Oklahoman reports.
With the Pelicans electing to sign Wayne Selden to a 10-day contract, it was only a matter of time before Williams was let go, as his contract was only partially guaranteed. He saw action in six games for the duration of his stint with New Orleans and managed averages of just 4.5 points and 1.0 rebound across 13.2 minutes per contest. He's expected to rejoin the Oklahoma City Blue of the D-League with the hope of getting another shot from a different organization. Mar 07 5:59 pm (EST)
