Jeb Burton has two NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series starts at Michigan International Speedway. In 2013, he started on the pole and finished 10th. In 2014, he earned an eighth-place result.
The Virginia-native has made one NASCAR XFINITY Series start at the two-mile track, earning a ninth-place finish in 2019. In addition, Burton has two NASCAR Cup Series start at Michigan International Speedway.-Niece Motorsports

Ryan Truex (#40 Marquis Chevrolet Silverado) will make his third NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series start at Michigan International Speedway on Friday.
In his two previous starts, Truex has one top-five finish, a fourth-place result coming in 2017. He has two NASCAR XFINITY Series starts at Michigan, with one top-10 and two top-15 finishes. His best finish of 10th came in 2018.-Niece Motorsports

Coming off 10th and 20th-place finishes in the doubleheader at Kansas Speedway two weeks ago, Todd Gilliland is looking for a strong run at Michigan Int’l Speedway to keep him safely above the cut line for the Truck Series playoffs.
He has two prior Truck Series starts at the fast two-mile track. He had his best run in 2018 when he started second and finished fifth. Last year he was running around the top five when he was ironically caught up in an accident with the three DGR-Crosley trucks and finished 24th.-Front Row Motorsports

Brett Moffitt has two career wins at Michigan International Speedway including his first Gander Trucks victory in 2016. His Michigan Gander Trucks Stats - Starts: 4, Best start: 6, Best finish: 1, Wins: 2, Top 5s: 3, Laps led: 15.
The #23 team will utilize chassis No. 321 this week at Michigan. Moffitt has one top 10 and 12 laps led in two starts with this chassis. He is projected eighth in the playoff standings entering Michigan, 58 points above the cut line.-GMS Racing

The starting lineup for Saturday's NASCAR Cup Series FireKeepers Casino 400 was set based on a combination of owner points and a random drawing.
P1 went to Joey Logano (#22 Ford Mustang) with #11 Denny Hamlin sharing the front row in the P2 spot. #4 Kevin Harvick, #10 Aric Almirola, #2 Brad Keselowski, #88 Alex Bowman, #18 Kyle Busch, #9 Chase Elliott, #14 Clint Bowyer and #1 Kurt Busch made up the remainder of the top-10 in the lineup. Did not make the race: No one, 39 entries for the 40-car lineup.

Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) and Erik Jones jointly announced today the end of their partnership upon the conclusion of the 2020 NASCAR season.
During his time at Jones has accomplished many milestones in his career. Following his championship season in the Truck Series in 2015, Jones moved full-time to the Xfinity Series winning Rookie of the Year honors and making a run at the 2016 Series championship. With the 2017 Cup Series Rookie of the Year title added to his accomplishments, Jones moved to the No. 20 Camry in 2018 winning his first-career Cup Series race and making his first appearance in the Cup Series Playoffs. Jones added the coveted Southern 500 to his resume in 2019 and secured his place in the 2019 Playoffs. Jones started the 2020 season strong winning the Busch Clash.-Joe Gibbs Racing

NASCAR handed down a penalty to Martin Truex Jr.’s No. 19 team for "Lug Nut(s) not properly Installed" after the August 2 NASCAR Cup Series event at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
Infraction: Sections 10.9.10.4: Tires and Wheels. Note: Lug nut(s) not properly installed. Penalty: Crew chief (James Small) has been fined $10,000.-NASCAR.com
